Constableville - George J Schwenk, 80, died unexpectedly Feb 22, 1945 in the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Marion Schwenk, with whom he had lived. Dr. F. M. Ringrose, health officer, gave the cause as heart trouble.
He was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Weber Schwenk and was born in Constableville, Jan 20, 1865. He never married. He was a lifelong Democrat.
He served as Town Clerk of West Turin for several years. He was a member of the Port Leyden Masonic Lodge. For more than 15 years, he had assisted his brother, the late Henry Schwenk, in conductlng Schwenks hotel. The hotel
is one of the old landmarks In this village.
Mr. Schwenk is survived by a sister, Mrs. Clara Linck, Constableville; two brothers, Charles, Ilion, and Rudolph, Talberg, and his sister-in-law; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held In Mrs. Schwenks home at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Frederick S. Haworth, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church will officiate. The body will be placed in the vault in Rural Cemetery where interment will be made in the spring.
