Wallace P. Proefrock, of East Britton Drive in the Town of Niagara, died Thursday (Jan. 4, 2001) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was 87. Born in North Tonawanda, he was an electronic technician at the Board of Cooperative Education Services in Cambria for 20 years. Before that, he worked at Levy Brothers Furniture in Niagara Falls and Jim Hayes TV. He is a life member, serving 65 years, with the Gratwick Hose Company No. 6 in North Tonawanda. His wife, the former Grace Britton-Gray, died in July 1997. Survivors include three sons, Donald of Hackettstown, NJ, William of Port Crane, and Robert of Town of Tonawanda, and three daughters, Nancy Pfohl, Sally Frasca and Kathleen Chapin, all of Sanborn. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park, Lewiston.
