- June 17, 2013 Donald A. Werth Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Mon Jun 17, 2013, 12:30 PM EDT NORTH TONAWANDA — Donald A. Werth, age 89, of North Tonawanda, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence after a long illness. Born in Troy, MI, he was the son of the late Charles and Emma (nee Zappendorf) Werth and was an Army veteran of WWII. A lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, Donald had been employed at the Exolon Company and was a life member and Past Commander of the American Legion, Tonawandas Post No. 264. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (nee Wienke) Werth; two daughters, Joselyn D. Szafranski and Rebecca (Samuel) Albert; and six grandchildren, Eric Szafranski, Christine (Jeff) Schroer, Samuel (Mackenzie) Albert, Wesley J. Albert, Brandon M. Albert and Stephanie (Marc) Eberz. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., in Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo are preferred by the family.
