Lester K. Siegmann, 73, of Homeyer Road, a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and a veteran of World War II, died Sunday (Sept. 13, 1998) in DeGraff Skilled Nursing Facility, North Tonawanda.
Siegmann served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 and was employed at Staffen Trucking Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1987 as a foreman.
He was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion.
He was given a gold watch in February in observance of his 50 years of service to St. Johnsburg Fire Company, where he was an exempt member.
He enjoyed bowling and watching football games.
Survivors include his wife, the former Adelean Byrd; two sons, Larry of Wilson and Daniel; a brother, Roger of Sanborn; two grandsons; and five stepgrandsons.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
