- Mr. Fred W. Hill, of Medina, passed away on Monday,
December 22, 2014 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hill was born in Medina,, November 1, 1926, a son
of the late William C. and Fern E. (Shepard) Hill. He
was a US Navy veteran and served during World War II
from 1944-46. He attended training at the Sampson
Naval Training Station. Following his discharge, e
returned to Medina. Mr. Hill was employed by Harrison
Radiator Division of GMC,, as an industrial Engineer,,
for many years. He was a longtime, devoted member
of St. John's Episcopal Church, served on the curch
vestry and was a member of the National Episcopal
Cursillo. He also was a member of Sampson SALT,
Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion, Lincoln Post
#1483, VFW and enjoyed playing golf.
Survivors include his wife,, Paula A (Toot); 2 sons,
Gary G (Marlene) Hilll and Mark D Hill, 7
grandchildren,, David and Daniel Hill, Matthew and
Andrew Bishara, Tammy Runyon Kristi Crawley and
Rhonda Robison, a great grandchild, Caleb Runyon,
3 step children,, Anna Morales, Betty Davis and
Charlene Schmidt, several step grandchilren and
step great grandchildren several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley E.
(Gardner) on August 21, 1955; his second wife,
Gladys E. (Marks) on Sept. 29, 2008; 2 daughters,
Marjorie Ellen Robinson and Barbara L. Bishara; and
his sister, Anita Pettigrew.
Friends may call on Friday (4-7) at the Cooper Funeral
home, 215 W. Cener St.,, Medina. His funeral service
will be held on Saturday at 11AM at St. John's
Episcopal Church and interment will be in Boxwood
Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by
members of Lincoln Post #1483 VFW and Butts-Clar
Post #204, American Legion.
