- Buffalo News, The (NY) - March 28, 1995. Services for Elmer G. Burge, a former process foreman for Hooker Chemical Corp., will be held at noon Wednesday in DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in Dickersonville Cemetery. Burge, 75, of Callan Drive, died Saturday (March 25, 1995) in Veterans Hospital, Buffalo, after a long illness. He was born in Philipsburg, Pa., and moved to this area when he was 18. He was a member of the U.S. Marines for four years, serving in Nevada, CA, Samoa and the South Pacific. He worked for 40 years in the heavy chemicals department of Hooker Chemical, which became part of Occidental Petroleum during his employment. He retired in 1982. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and was a member of the Hooker Retirement Club. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Lorraine Hasley; two sons, Brian and Curtis; a brother, William of Monongahela, Pa.; four sisters, Marie Fedak of Laurinburg, N.C., Jane Coggiano of Lake Forest, Calif., Louise Libby of Orono, Maine, and Beulah Muir of Philipsburg; and two grandchildren.
