Alvin A. Schimschack, 78, of Schultz Street, a former inspector at the Carborundum Co. Abrasives Division in Wheatfield, died Thursday (Oct. 30, 1997) at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield.
Schimschack served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion, and of Friedens United Church of Christ in North Tonawanda, where he served on various boards. He was the church cemetery sexton for many years.
Schimschack enjoyed woodworking and baseball.
His wife, the former Leona Jaeger, died in 1995.
Survivors include a son, William of Wheatfield; a sister, Eunice Heuer; a brother, Donald of North Tonawanda; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
A private grave side service will be held with the family in Friedens Cemetery, Wheatfield. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in Friedens United Church of Christ, 170 Schenck St., North Tonawanda.
