EAST SHELBY — The Ashwood Methodist Church was the scene of an early Fall wedding on Saturday, Sept. 8, when Miss Barbara Retzloff, niece of Mr and Mrs Vernon Krisher of Lyndonville, became the bride of Walter Scharlau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scharlau of East Shelby. The Rev.the double-ring ceremony and a Adrian Everts of Cuba performed the double-ring ceremony and a prayer was made by the Rev Eldyn Simons.The bride wore a floor length gown of white Chantilly lace with fitted bodice and bouffant skirt.Her finger-tip illusion veil was caught with teardrop pearls and rose buds and she carried a white Bible with cascade bouquet of white pompons and carnations.Miss Marjorie Krisher was maid of honor and wore a floor length gown of aqua lace over satin with headpiece of yellow roses on a velvet ribbon She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow pompons and sweetheart roses. Miss Jean Scharlau of East Shelby, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Norman Huntington of Middleport were the bridesmaids and were attired in gowns and matching headpieces in pink and blue. Each carried a colonial bouquet of pink pompons and roses.Ronald Mapes of Lyndonville acted as best man. The ushers were Richard Surman of Corfu and Mr Huntington A reception was held at the Lyndonville Town Hall for 100 guests present from Bergen, Corfu, Medina, Lockport, Niagara Falls, Sanborn, Indian Falls, Ridgeway and Lyndonville. A buffet table was centered with a four-tiered wedding cake and he attendants' bouquets. Following their wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Scharau are residing on the Fletcher Chapel Rd.
