- Edward C. Rozyczko
Edward C. Rozyczko, age 82, of Orchard Parkway, Niagara Falls, died Thursday, August 1, 2002 at Schoellkopf Health Center, after a long illness. Born September 7,1919 in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Julian and Josephine (Laskowski) Rozyczko. Mr. Rozyczko served 23 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant and Crew Chief. Mr. Rozyczko served in World War II, serving his tour of duty in North Africa, Great Britain, Italy and Japan. Edward also served in the Korean War and was involved in the Strategic Air Command. Edward was stationed at Peace Air Force Base, Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, NY and for three years at the Niagara Falls Air Force Base. After his retirement from the Air Force, Edward worked for 20 years as a supply clerk for the Niagara County Department of Social Services. Mr. Rozyczko married his wife, Theresa, in Niagara Falls, NY on November 22, 1947. He was a member of St. Mary of the Cataract RC. Church, where he served as an usher and volunteered at bingo. Edward was an avid bowler, who belonged to the Niagara County Department of Social Services Bowling League. Mr. Rozyczko is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theresa (Birmingham) Rozyczko. Father of Michael C. (Linda) Rozyczko of Niagara Falls and the late Patrick R. Rozyczko, Brother of Vincent and Helen Rozyczko of Syracuse, NY, and the late Andrew, Anthony, Albert, Charles and Francis Rozyczko and Anna Halko; grandfather of Michael Rozyczko; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home, LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 5, 2002 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Cataract RC. Church with Rev. Michael H. Burzynski officiating. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
