Poerschke-Van Dusen
The wedding of Miss Florence Van
Dusen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Van Dusen, of Beach Ridge,
and Harold Eugene Poerschke, son
of Mr. and Mrs. William Poerschke.
of 522 Prospect street, North Tonawanda,
took place Saturday afternoon
at 4:30 o'clock at t h e St. Paul's
Evangelical church in Wendelville
with the Rev. Carl Kindt officiating
at the ceremony.
Large baskets of yellow chrysanthemums
decorated the altar, while
white chrysanthemums tied with
white satin ribbon marked the places
for the family. The aisles were
roped with white satin ribbons. Preceding
and during the ceremony
Arnold Nuoffer at the organ provided
the musical setting for the
wedding. John Emmett sanjr. "At
Dawning" and " I Love You Truly."
Entering the church on the a rm
of her father, the bride made a
lovely picture in her wedding gown
of white transparent velvet, made
on princess lines with a long train,
high neckline and long fitted sleeves
puffed at the shoulder. Her veil
of illusion fell from a cap of net
and orange blossoms and reached
the hem of her train. She carried
a shower bouquet of white roses,
chrysanthemums a n d baby's breath
tied with long streamers of white
•satin ribbons knotted with tinywhite
mums.
Mrs. Kenneth Van Dusen. of this
city, was t he matron of honor. She
wore her wedding gown of eggshell
transparent velvet. With this she
wore a rose finger-tip illusion veil
and carried a bouquet of red roses.
Rose accessories completed her costume.
Miss Mildred Nuoffer. of North
Tonawanda. the first bridesmaid.
wore wine velvet with matching veil,
accessories and flowers.
Mrs. Wallace Worth, sister of the
groom, chose a gown of fuschia velvet
with matching veil and accessories
and orchid chrysanthemums.
Mrs. Robert Rockett, also a sister
of the groom, of North" Tonawanda.
wore a gown of royal blue velvet
with matching veil and accessories
and her flowers were yellow chrysanthemum.
The best man was Arthur Fehrman
and the ushers were Wallace
Worth and Robert Rockett, of North
Tonawanda. and Kenneth Van
Dusen, of this city.
The mother of the groom wore
royal blue velvet with silver accessories
and a corsage of red roses
and white poms. The groom's mother
wore black lace with a corsage of
pink roses and pom poms.
. Immediately after the ceremony a
wedding dinner was served a t Snell's.
Bear Ridge, for 30 guests and later
a reception was held at the home
of the groom's parents, where over
100 guests were present. The bride's
table was arranged In silver, crystal
and white flowers, with a four-tier
wedding cake in the center.
After a motor trip through the
south, Mr. a nd Mrs. Poerschke will
reside in North Tonawanda. The
bride wore a boy blue wool crepe
frock with vlptage suede accessories
and a fitch top coat for traveling.
Guests were present from this
city. Medina, Batavla, Corfu and
Buffalo. Among the hostesses for
the -popular bride were Mrs. Arthur
Hall. Miss Mildred Nuoffer. Mrs.
Wallace Worth. Mrs. William Poerschke,
Mrs. Robert Rockett and Mrs.
Kenneth Van Dusen.
