Welland, Ont., July 17 (U.P.)-
Camille Bernard, 8, of East Well-
and, was instantly killed today
when struck by an automobile on
the highway near here. Coroner
Duncan Allison investigated the
accident.

WELLAND. Ont., July 26.-"We the
Jury find that Camlile Bernard came
to his death on July 17th as the result
of being struck by a car driven
by Peroy McKeever of St. Catharines
at an excessive rate of speed, the Injuries
being a broken neck and a
fracture to the skull."
This was the verdict returned yesterday
afternoon at Pelham Township
Hall by t h e Jury enquiring into tho
death of Camllle Bernard, 12 years
old, one of t en children of Mr. and
Mrs. Edmond Bernard. 43 Welland
street east, who was Instantly killed
shortly before 8 a. m. July 17th on
Highway 20 near Fonthlll while he
and several other persons were walking
on their way to a berry patch.
Police state a charge of criminal
negligence has been laid against McKeever
and h e Is to appear before
Magistrate J. C. Massle on Wednesday,
July 31. Police also say that
McKeever faces a charge of driving
without an operator's license
