RAPIDS A former general
store operator here, Mrs.
Elsie K. Essler, 7146 Rapids
Road, Town of Lockport, died
todav (Feb, 2, 1961) at Lockport
Memorial Hospital after
a brief illness.
Mrs. Essler .and her husband,
Roy M. Essler, operated
the general store for 15 years
until they sold it in 1958. Mrs.
Essler, a native of Tonawanda,
was the daughter of Frederick
and Harriet Dorks.
A Town of Lockport resident
for 17 years_,_Mrs. Essler
was a member of the Rapids
Home Demonstration U n it
and the Raymond-Rapids Garden
Club.
Survivors include her husband;
a son, 1st Lt. Wilfred
G. Volkstadt, with the Air
Force at Champaign, 111.; a
sister, Mrs. Arnold Patrick,
Tonawanda; tw.o brothers, Albert
F. Reinke, Royalton, and
Walter A. Reinke,- Town of
Tonawanda; and her stepmother,
Mrs. Frederic!? Reinke,
Tonawanda.
Services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gaul
Funeral Home by Rev. James
F. Burdick of the United
Brethern Church here. The
body will be cremated.
