- Maurine E. (nee Wittkowsky) Kick, age 97, died peacefully at the Schofield Residence, December 21, 2009. Mrs. Kick was born in North Tonawanda on September 19, 1912 to Herman F. and Ella (Salow) Wittkowsky. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Kick, who died in 1993; and sister of the late Herman F. Wittkowsky, Jr.Mrs. Kick was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda and a dedicated member of Friedens UCC where she was active in her youth, a thirty year Sunday School teacher, director and teacher of vacation Bible school and active for many years in the Tri-C women's group, altar guild and as the Dunkirk Auxiliary key lady. Mrs. Kick was the oldest living member of Friedens UCC. She was an officer of the NT PTA in years past and president of the NT PTSA when the NT High School on Meadow Drive was dedicated. Always devoted to her family and friends, Mrs. Kick is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Kick; her brother, William C. (Wilma) Wittkowsky; and also sisters-in-law, Kathleen (late Herman Jr.) Wittkowsky, Ruth (late Paul) Frederick, Marion (Harold) Kreger; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call WEDNESDAY, December 23, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and THURSDAY, December 24, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the WATTENGEL Funeral Home, 307 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, where funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM. The Rev. Thomas Hardy will officiate. Interment at Friedens Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of Friedens UCC, 1280 N.
