Aviation Cadet James B. Shields,
23, son of Mr. and Mrs. James E.
Shields, 5806 Stephenson avenue,
died suddenly Friday at Aloe Airfield,
Victoria. Texas, according %to
a message received by his parents
over the weekend. No details of his
death were, received but members of
his family believe that he was killed
in an airplane crash.
Born In Niagara Falls. Cadet
Shields graduated from the LaSalle
high school and was employed by
the Acheson Graphite company before
entering the service two and a
half years ago.
Besides his parents, he is survived
by a brother, Thomas E.
Shields, and two sisters. Mrs. William
R. MacElwain and Mrs. Hugh
Shipston, both of this city.
The body will be brought here
from Texas and funeral services
will be held at his parent's home at
2 pjn. Wednesday, with the Rev.
Charles R. Osbom. of the First
Baptist church, and the Rev. Galbraith
H. Todd, of the Pierce Avenue
Presbyterian church, officiating.
Burial will be iri Memorial Park
