Alvin F. Broecker, 16 Falconer
St., today announced
his candidacy for Fifth
Ward Supervisor in the
North Tonawanda Republican
primary June 5.
Mr. Broecker has begun circulation
of petitions. Walter W. Witte
n o w represents the ward. He was
a p p o i n t e d to r e p l a c e R o b e r t N.
Forsyth, who was named Niagara
County Sanatorium business manager.
Making his first political bid,
Mr. Broecker has been employed
the last 15 years at the Tonawan-
: da Iron Division plant of American
Radiator & Standard Sanitary
Corp. He is a member of the Personnel
Managers' Club of the
Chamber of Commerce.
A lifelong North Tonawanda res-
ident, he was born July 25, 1920.f
He was educated in St. Mark's Lu-
theran School, Felton Grammer
School and North Tonawanda High
School where he was graduated in
1939. Prior to his employment at
the Tonawanda Iron Division plant,
Mr. Broecer studied general bus-
iness administration at the Bryant
& Stratton Business Institute.
In 1934, he married the former
Shirley Bowen, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Allan Bowen of 388
Wheatfield St. The Broeckers
have two children, David A., 10,
and Susan L., 6, who attend Grant
School. Mr. Broecker has served
on the Citizens Committee for
North Tonawanda Schools and the
Grant School Parent-Teacher As-
sociation
