Engagements
Mrs. Grace Channlng of Hyde Park
boulevard announces the engagement
of her daughter, Ruth Helen,.to Willis
D. Stokes, only son of Mr. and
Mrs. Howard P. Stokes, of Willow
avenue. The wedding will take place
New Years Eve.

A very quiet but pretty wedding
was solemnized Monday evening, when
Ruth Helen, daughter of Mrs. Grace
Channlng, of Hyde Park boulevard,
became the bride of Willis D. Btokes,
only son of Mr, and Mrs. Howard P.
Stokes, of Willow avenue. The ceremony
was performed by the Rev
Charles R. Osborne, under an arch
of evergreen boughs.
The bride was becomingly gowned
in cocktail blue and was attended by
Mrs. Andrew Haun, Andrew Haun
attended the groom. After the ceremony
a delicious wedding supper was
served to the party.
Those present Included Mr. and
Mrs. Howard P. Stokes, Mr, and Mrs.
George C. Lehman, Mr, and Mrs, Joseph
Bliss, of Tonawanda; Mr. and
Mrs. Andrew Haun, Mr. and Mrs. E.
G, Stokes, Mrs. Clara Crandall, Mrs.
Mary Lincoln. Mrs. Elizabeth Stokes,
the Misses Betty Channlng, Mildred
Bliss, Marlon Bliss and Mildred Dart,
and Franklin Bliss, William Chan-
ning, John Norton and Walter Slonls.
After a short trip the couple will
be at home at 31 Hyde Park boulevard.
