dent of this village and for-
mer chief of Lewiston Fire
Co., No. 1 Henry C. Piper, 53,
of 140 S. First St., died unex-
pectedly of a heart attack
Thursday (Sept. 13, 1962) at
his home.
Mr. Piper was an employee
of the former J.W. H. Kelly
Coal & Improvement Co.
here for 28 years. He was
born here April 11, 1909, son
of Arthur and susan Van
Luven Piper. He was an
active membet of the fire
company for 28 years and was
chief for three years.
Surviving are his widow,
Eleanor Piper; two sons, Char-
les h. and Richard H. Piper,
both at ahome; a sister, Mrs.
Harry Strablow; three ebroth-
ers, Harry S., Leonard F., and
russell H. Piper, all of Lewis-
ton.
Services will be conducted
at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the
Hardison Funeral Home here
and at 11 a,m. at St. Paul's
Episcopal Church by Rev. Wil-
liam F. Staton. Burial will be in
Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the fu-
neral home after 1 p.m. Satur-
day.
