Edna M. Hilsenbeck
1914-2007
SAVANNAH, Mo. - Edna May (Clary) Hilsenbeck, 92, Savannah, died Friday, July 27, 2007, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home, Savannah.
She was born Aug. 6, 1914, at Savannah to the late Edward and Stella (Patterson) Clary.
Edna married John Hilsenbeck on Feb. 8, 1933, at Savannah. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1980.
A son, Charles Hilsenbeck; three brothers; two sisters and a great-great-grandson also preceded Edna in death.
Edna was engaged in farming for several years with her late husband. She also worked as an aide at La Verna Village Nursing Home and at the Golden Rule Store, Savannah. Edna was an Avon representative for 15 years.
She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed gardening, sewing and crafts.
Edna was a very loving person and very spunky.
Survivors: daughter, Melissa Grishow, Rea, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Frost, St. Joseph; sister, Mabel Smalley, State of Oregon; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2007, at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah. Interment: at Fillmore, Mo., Cemetery. Public visitation: after 9 a.m. Monday; and the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday.
The family requests memorials to the American Heart Association, Diabetes Association or Hands of Hope Hospice.
