Scoby—Axon
Miss Emma Jane Axon, daughter
of the late Mr.. and Mrs. Wm. De
Loss Axon, of Fairportr and Hal A
Scoby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch C.
Scoby, of North Tonawanda, were
quietly married at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Field 3d, 19 Crestwood
avenue, Buffalo, at 6 p. m., Saturday,
June 19th.
The bride attended Syracuse University,
while the groom is a graduate
of Union College, class of 1917.
Mr. Scoby served with distinction
during the World War as second
lieutenant in the air service and is
riow superintendent of the American
Can Co.'s plant at Fairport.
They were married in a bower of
bridal wreath, pink carnations and
roses, the ceremony being perfornaed
by Rev. Shorts, rector of the Church
of the Advent, kenmore. The bride
was gowned in orchid-pink georgette,
hand embroidered, and carried
a shower bouquet of pink rosebuds
and-lflies of the valley. .The bride
was attended by Mrs. Chas. Field, as
matron of honor, who was appro-
priately gowned in pink georgette.
Mr. Field acted as best man for the
groom. ,
Only the immediate relatives of the
bride and groom attended the ceremony,
after which a wedding supper
was served,
The bride was the recipient of
many beautiful presents,among
which was a complete silver service
presented by the employees of the
American Can Co. The groom's gift
to;the bride was a. platinum bar pin
set with diamonds, while the groom
received an artistic platinum watch
chain from the bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Scoby left Saturday
evening, for. an extended motor trip.
through the Canadian provinces, .and
will be at home to their many friends,
after August 16th, a t 17 West Church
street, Fairport.
