A blue and white theme was predominant last Saturday
in the wedding of Miss Barbara Jeanne Oddo,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Oddo Jr., 562 Broad
St., and Albert Tatu Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tatu
Sr., Columbia Drive, Williamsville.
Vases of white gladioli adorned
the altar of St. Francis of Assisi
Church as the Rev. Francis Bar-
atto performed the nuptial cere-
mony. Gary Tatu, brother of the
bridegroom, served as altar boy.
Before leaving the altar the bride
offered a white floral spray to the
Blessed Virgin.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was gowned in a floor-
length dress of embroidered nylon
tulle. The tight-fitting bodice was
fashioned with a scalloped scoop
neckline and short, shirred sleeves.
Her bouffant skirt of embroidered
nylon tulle parted with a scallop-
ped edging in the back to reveal
alternate rows of deep pleated tulle
and embroidered nylon ruffles
which extended to a chapel-length
train. Her fingertip veil of im-
ported French illusion was caught
to a halo of pearls with matching
iridescents. she carried a white
prayer book, a gift of the bride-
groom, and a rosary, a gift from
her brother, covered by a single
simulated blossom of gladioli pet-
als and flowering ivy.
Miss Judy Harmon attended the
bride as her maid-of-honor. The
bridesmaids were Miss Sandra Ta-
tu, sister of the bridegroom, and
Miss Jacqueline Simon. They
all wore street-length gowns of
perento blue crystalette. The
rounded scoop necklines were high-
lighted with bands of tiny tucked
pleats. The short-sleeved bodices
fell in right-fitting princess lines to
the hipline to form a long-torso
and there billowed into a bouffant
skirt. Open-crowned bonnets of
matching material completed their
costumes. They carried colonial
bouquets of creamy white simu-
lated blossoms.
Francis Kollmar attended the
bridegroom as best man. The ush-
ers were Robert Witmer, George
Reimer and Ted Garrold.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs.
Odod selected a dress of moon-
stone blue organza featuring a tiny
jeweled Peter Pan collar and bouf-
fant skirt. A matching blue hat
and white accessories completed
her costume. Mrs. Tatu favored a
powder blue embroidered llinen
sheath dress with matching acces-
sories. Both mothers carried white
orchids.
A wedding breakfast for 30
guests was given at Hartman's
Restaurant in Buffalo. A recep-
tion and buffet supper for 300 took
place that evening at the Elks
Club.
Mr. and Mrs. Tatu left for a
wedding trip through the Adiron-
dacks. They will be at home in
Dodge Rd.,, East Amherst, after
Sept. 4.
Out-of-town guests for the wed-
ding were present from Pulaski,
Ont., Rochester, Syracuse, Water-
town and New York City.
Entertaining with pre-nuptial
parties for the bride were Miss
Meg Carlton, Mrs. Ruth Witmer,
Mrs. Dorothy Sachs, Mrs. Betty
Friszell, Mrs. Edna Mangrum and
Mrs. Cecile Smith.
