BARKER. June 15-A lovely wedding
took place at the West Somerset
Baptist church at 3:30 p. m.
Saturday when Miss Marian Ona-
lee Rhodes, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. L, Henry Rhodes, became the
bride of Mr. David F. Wilson, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Arza L. Wilson. The
Rev. Robert J. DeBoer, pastor, officiated
at the double ring ceremony.
Donald W. Harrington presented
a program of music preceding th«
ceremony, after which the traditional
bridal chorus and wedding
march were played. Miss Joan
Wass, of Barker, a cousin of the
bride, sang, "O Promise Me," and
Miss Jean Smith, a classmate of
the bride and groom at Providence
Bible Institute, Providence, R. I ,
sang, -The Love of God."
The bride, entering the church on
the arm of her father, who gave
he/- In marriage, wore a gown of
white satin, made with' a beaded
sweetheart neckline and long leg-omutton
sleeves falling to a point
over the wrist. Her bouquet was
cascade style of white carnations
with lily of the valley, tied with a
large white satin bow. Her only
jewelry was a single strand of
pearls, the gift of the groom.
Miss Eleanor Rhodes, her sister's
maid of honor, wore a dress of white
organdy, with pink velvet imprints,
over pink taffeta. She carried an
arm bouquet of dark pink carna-
tions.
The bridesmaids, Miss Betty Wil-
son and Miss Donna Wilson, sisters
of the groom, were gowned in dres-
ses of white organdy over green an d
orchid taffeta. Little Miss Marian
Wilson, sister of the bridegroom,
acted as flower girl.
Dressed in a suit of dark blue,
Keith Rhodes, brother of the bride,
was ringbearer. Richard Wilson,
brother of the groom, was best man
and the ushers were Norman Ros-
seau, brother-in-law of the groom,
and Gordon Rhodes, brother of the
bride.
The mother of the bride was
Rowned in navy blue crepe. The
mother of the groom' chose a gown
cf dark green organdy. Also present
at the wedding were Mrs. Thomas
Nye, Lyndonvllle, and Mrs. William
Nye, Lyndonville, and Mrs. William
Wass, aBrker, grandmothers of the
bride, and Mrs. George Dickinson,
West Somerset, grandmother of the
groom.
Following the ceremony in the
church, a reception was held in the
church social rooms. Mrs. Wilfred
Harrington, Appleton, and Mrs.
Charles N. Perry, West Somerset,
presided at the punch bowls.
After a wedding trip to Watkins
Glen and other central New York
points the couple will make their
home at Appleton for the summer,
returning this fall to the Provi-
dence Bible institute where the bride
is a student and the groom has just
completed the three-year course.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Wilson are grad-
uates of Barker Central school.
