William G. Rutland, 22, of
Arnold Court, Olcott, son of
Krull Park Superintendent
Richard Rutland, was pronounced
dead at the scene.
He suffered multiple fractures.
Mr. Rutland, an employe of
Merritt, Chapman, Scott Company
at the power project was
northbound. His 1956 modl
auto left the highway, sheared
off two utility poles and ran
over bushes and shrubs at
the Mains Home.
Funeral services for the
Rutland youth will be held
at 2 p.m. Sunday, which would
have been his 23rd birthday.
The Rev. George Manning of
Olcott Methodist Church will
officiate. Burial will be in Corwin
Cemetery. Friends may
call at the Corwin Funeral
Home, Newfane, Friday and
Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7
to 9 p.m.
He was born Dec. 27, 1936,
the son of Richard L. and Ohalee
Mahl Rutland, who survive
him. He was a graduate of
Wilson Central High School in
1955 and had been .employed
as an operating engineer on
the Niagara Power Project.
Surviving, in addition to the
parents, in Olcott, are a sister,
Mrs. David Chase, of Lockport;
three brothers, Kenneth, Richard
Jr. and Jerry Rutland, all
of Olcott, and his paternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert J. Rutland, of Wilson.
