Ida M. Homewood, 71, of South Avenue, who worked as a waitress at the former Royal Chef Coffee Shop for 20 years, died Sunday (Aug. 15, 1999) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a three-year illness.
Born Ida Tickett in Niagara Falls, she worked at the former Slipko Brothers Food Market when it was located in the basement of Jenss Department Store on Main Street for a few years. She later worked at Royal Chef.
Mrs. Homewood then worked in the cafeteria of Niagara Falls High School and finally in the cafeteria in the former Niagara Lutheran High School, North Tonawanda.
She was an avid bingo player.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Robert G.; a daughter, Deborah Sarzyniak of North Tonawanda; a son, Scott K. of Charlotte, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday in Otto Redanz Funeral Home, MI Avenue and 10th Street. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
