JAMES H. PIERCE, of 2112 Main
street, dean of the U. S. Immigration
officers In service at this
port, entered Into retirement 15
years ago today and left for New
York to reside with his children.
Rollo H Pierce. Mrs Clarence B.
Vogt and Mrs. Bonnie George. He
had been an Immigration officer
here since 1908 and had served on
Toronto boats, the International
bridges and passenger trains. He was
senior officer of the local service
when he reached the retirement age.
Fellow employes presentd him with
a travllng bag as a token of their
esteem.
