D. S. Cruickshank Dies at 57
Duncan S. Cruickshank, 57, of 5769 Buffalo St. Sanborn. Mr. Cruickshank was former operator of a sporting goods store in Niagara Falls, died at Mount St. Mary's Hospital Sunday after a six month illness. Mr Cruickshank came to this city with his family when he was three years old from Falkirk, Scotland, and live here until moving to Sanborn six years ago. He operated his sporting goods store in LaSalle for 22 years. Mr Cruickshank was an organized and past president of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club, a member of Elks Lodge 346, the Optimist Club, the Clan of McKenzie Club and served with the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. The fire company members will meet for a memorial service tonight at 7:30 o'clock. Survivors include his widow, Esther, of Sanborn; a son, Duncan S. Cruickshank III, this city; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Joan) Stauffer, this city, and Mrs. John (Jean) Haseley of Sanborn; two brothers, Capt. George M. Cruickshank of the Niagara Falls Police Department and Charles Cruickshank of this city; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Rissler of Lantana, Fla., and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Otto Radanz Funeral Home with the Rev. John B. Toay, pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Friends may call today and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
