The Bacon Memorial Presbyterian
church, on Fifty-ninth street, was
the scene of a lovely summer wedding,
Monday evening at 7 o'clock,
when Miss Ethel Howell, daughter
of Mr. William H. Howell, of
Eighty-seventh street, became the
bride of Mr. Kenneth Scott, son of
Mr. Glenn Scott, of Twenty-fourth
street, with the Rev. John K. Borneman
officiating.
The altar was beautifully decorated
with large white baskets of
red gladioli, white, snowballs, pink
roses, white sweet peas and baby's
breath. Preceding the ceremony,
Mrs. Gladys Campbell, presided at
the organ, playing "I Love You
Truly" and "Enchanting Dream",
by Gaston de Lille. The wedding
party entered the church to the
strains of Lohengrin's Wedding
March.
The bride who was given in marriage
by her father, wore a powder
blue lace dress, over taffeta, fashioned
with a sweetheart neckline,
short puff sleeves and a full skirt.
She wore a white picture hat and
white me.sh gloves. Her shoulder
corsage was of white rosebuds, white
sweet peas and baby's breath. Her
only Jewelry was a small yellow gold
cioss.
Miss Jane Howell was her sister's
only attendant. She wore a
dusty rose lace dress over taffeta,
fashioned similarly to that of the
bride. She also wore a white picture
hat and white mesh gloves. Her
corsage wa.s of pink rosebuds, white
sweet peas and baby's breath.
Mr. Walter Scott, brother of the
trroom, was best man.
Mr. John Howell, brother of the
bride, and Mr. La Vem Stevens,
brother of the groom, were the ushers.
Mrs. W. H Howell chose a dress
of black net. trimmed with white
embroidery and white accessories.
Mrs. Glen Scott wore a white twopiece
suit with black and white accessories.
Their corsages were of
pink rosebuds, white sweet peas and
baby's breath.
The reception was held immediately
after the ceremony at the
home of the bride's parents, with
about 75 guests present. The bride's
table was set under a canopy ot
pink and white si reamers. It was
covered with a white linen table
cloth and centered by the threetiered
wedding cake, which was
flanked by tall white tapers set
In double silver candle holders.
After the reception Mr. and Mrs.
Scott left on an extended tour
through eastern Canada. After
August 1 they will reside at 626
Twenty-ninth street.
Out-of-town guests Included Mr.
and Mrs. A. E. Rodgers and daughter,
Shirley, of Ontario, Canada:
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Waddell and
family, of Lewiston, N. Y., and Mrs.
Dougherty, of Pittsburgh, Penna.
Prenuptial affairs Included a
kitchen shower by relatives of the
bride, A variety shower by Mrs. W.
H. Howell and Miss Jane Howell, a
variety shower by Mrs, John K.
Borneman and a variety shower by
the Ladles.Aid of the Bacon Memorial
church while friends of the
bride and groom held a beach party
where they were presented with an
electric coffee-maker.
