A Lyndonville couple who
have lived in their present
home for the past halfcentury,
celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary
there this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter A.
Goetze, 11599 East Lake
Road, were honored by
family 'and friends.
Actually, they will reach
their golden anniversary on
Feb. 7 but held the
celebration early as their
daughter from Houston,
Texas, could be with them
for the party Jan. 2.
The former Maude
Maynard became the bride
of Walter A. Goetze Feb.
7, 1921 in the Baptist Church
parsonage when the Rev.
John Worth officiated.
Mr. Goetze, a native of
the Town of Shelby, is the
son of ,Mr. and Mrs. William
Goetze. They originally
were from Germany and
settled at Lyndonville.
• Mrs. Goetze is the
daughter of William and
Alice Maynard of Newfane.
A lifetime farmer, Mr.
Goetze continues at his occupation.
The couple are the
parents of Donald Goetze
Lyndonville; Melvin Goetze
of Newfane; Mrs. Donald
(Beverly) Scharping of
Holly; and Mrs. E.L. (Rose)
Martin, Houston.
Also, they have eight
grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.

anniversary celebration
w e r e from Rochester,
Andover, Lockport, Gasport,
Burt, Barker, Newfane and
Lyndonville.
. A f t e r the afternoon
reception at the Goetze
home, the family held a
dinner at the Village Inn.
