NIAGARA FALLS — John G. "Jack" Stricker, age 85, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, died peacefully in his sleep at his home. Born on June 5, 1925, he was the son of the late John and Ida (Wilcox) Stricker.
Mr. Stricker had attended Trott Vocational School. He served in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1947 with the rank of Sergeant. In June of 1948, he married the love of his life, the former Diane M. Winter. Mr. Stricker is predeceased by his wife. For over 35 years, Mr. Stricker was employed as a Chemical Operator for DuPont. He retired as a supervisor in 1984. He was a member of VFW Post 54 of Niagara Falls and the Niagara Falls CB Radio Club. He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, listening to country and big band music and loved lending a hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his three daughters, Jill (Sean) Stacey of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Jackie (late Anthony) Maglio of Niagara Falls, NY and Cathy Grace of Youngstown, NY; grandchildren, Christine, Julie, Lindsay, Kaitlyn, Danielle, Kyle, Alexandra, Madison; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Max, Miranda, Brittany, Hayley, Isaiah and Stephen; a niece, Sandra Thompson. He is predeceased by a sister, Gladys Nelson; and niece, Gloria.
No prior visitation. A casual celebration of Jack's life will be held on Sunday, NOVEMBER, 7th between 3 and 6 PM from the VFW Post 54, 2772 Main St., Niagara Falls, NY 14305. Arrangements entrusted to the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY (297-9007).
