Obituary
A. Roger Klimecko, 87, of Wheatfield, NY passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 with his loving family by his side, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 28, 1936 he was the son of the late Anthony "Toni" and Stella M. (Szlichcinski) Klimecko, he attended local schools, graduating from Bishop Duffy High School.
Roger entered the United States Air Force on September 8, 1954. He was honorably discharged as a A/1C on June 6, 1958. After serving his country, Roger began working for the Occidental Chemical Corporation. He worked at Oxy for 35+ years, retiring in 1996 as a Certified Industrial Hygiene Technician.
Post retirement, Roger worked for Niagara Falls Country Club & Frontier Country Club. When he was not working, he was an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by his sons, Chris (Karen) Klimecko, Brian Klimecko and Ronald Klimecko; grandchildren, Amy, Candice, Daryl, and Danielle; five great-grandchildren; sister, Cynthia (Late- Robert) Rougeaux. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dolores M. "Dee"(Gonzales) Klimecko.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 14th from 4-8 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 15th at St. Mary's of The Cataract R.C. Church, 259 4th Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Mario Racho officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, will take place at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231.
