Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin A.
Schmeichel of Carney street, Tonawanda,
announce the engagement
of their daughter, Norma Alice, to
Bert Hartley Folmsbee, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Leon M. Folmsbee of
North Tonawanda.

Candelabra, fern and vases of
pink and white mums decorated
the altar of Salem Evangelical
and Reformed Church on Wednesday
evening, Oct. 11, for the
candlelight marriage ceremony
of M i s s Norma Schmeichel,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin
S c h m e i c h e l , and Bert
Folmsbee. son of Mrs. Leon
Folmsbee and the late Mr. Folmsbee.
"I Love Thee" and "The
Lord's Prayer" were sung by
Mrs. Dorothy Garlapow, accompanied
by Mrs. Theron Miller.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, was lovely in a
floor length gown of shell pink
imported silk chantilly lace over
a bodice of satin, trimmed with
seed pearls and rhinestones,
with long pointed* sleeves and a
double skirt of nylon tulle. Her
veil of illusion was attached to a
pink rhinestone studded cloche.
She carried a white Bible with
an orchid.
Mrs. Marjorie Matson was
matron-of-honor and Miss Carmelia
Sinicropi was bridesmaid.
They were dressed alike in
opalescent green faille gowns
made with full skirts and wore
matching gauntlets and* pink
feather cloches. They carried
colonial bouquets.
Glen Folmsbee was best man
for his brother and Louis Schmeichel,
the bride's brother,
was usher.
°Mrs. Benjamin Schmeichel, the
bride's mother, wore a grey
dress with matching accessories
and Mrs. Leon Folmsbee, the
groom's mother wore a black
dress and matching accessories.
Both wore corsages of white
gardenias.
Following the ceremony, a reception
was held in the Clay
Pipe Room of the Delaware
Hotel.
For traveling through the New
England States, the bride chose
a powder blue velvet suit with
matching hat and a fur scarf.
Prenuptial parties for the
bride were given by Mrs. Edward
Batt, Sr., Mrs. Frank
Schwinger, Mrs. Frank Netter,
Mrs. Wm. Collins, Mrs. Louis
Schmeichel, Mrs. Lee Matson
and Miss Carmelia Sinicropi,
Mrs. Walter Waterstrat, Mrs.
Allan Anderson, Mrs. Arthur
Scheitheir, Mrs. Charles Oswald,
Mrs. William Smith, Mrs.
D. Barber, Mrs. Kenneth Martin
and Mrs. E. Crittenden and
the Choir of Frieden's Church.
