Doris M. Schuner, of Medina, passed away on January 23, 2016 at the Eastern Niagara Hospital. Mrs. Schuner was born at home in Middleport on July 6, 1923, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Eick) Wolter.
A graduate of Middleport High School, Class of 1941, she married Karl H. Schuner in 1942. She resided on Townline Road, Town of Yates from 1946-2003, when she moved to Lakewood Village. She was employed by Gould's Greenhouse, Harrison Radiator and retired from Fisher-Price Toys.
A longtime, active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she was a member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League, the Trinity Church Guild and quilting club. She made many quilts and lap robes for the missions. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. Many baby clothes and blankets were enjoyed by her grandchildren. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Western Orleans, traveled with the Fisher-Price travel club, enjoyed square dancing with the Orleans Orbits and volunteered with the Office of the Aging and Hospice of Orleans County.
Survivors include three children, Brenda (Tom) Best of East Aurora, David (Mary Ruth) Schuner of Waxhaw, NC and Michael Schuner of Medina; ten grandchildren, Laurie, Sue, Peter, Danny, Christina, Andy, Adam, April, Alana, and Michael II; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Karl, on March 2, 1991; two sisters, Marjorie Schuner and Katherine Raduns; and her brother, Paul Wolter.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hospice of Orleans County or Senior Citizens of Western Orleans.
