WILSON -Clyde K. Nelson, 71, of 307 Catherine
St., died Sunday (Nov. 15, 1964) in Inter-Community
Memorial Hospital, Newfane, where he had been a patient
for one day; Mr. Nelson, however, had been in ill
health for thelast three months.
He owned and operated the
Nelson Machinec and Auto
Works here from 1948 until
his retirement in 1959.
Mr, Nelson was born Jan
30; 1894, in Mancelona, Mich.,
the son of John and Ida Latter
Nelson. Heattendedschool
in Grand Rapids, Mich., and
served in the Army Air Force,
with the rank of first lieutenant,
in World War I as a
flight'instructor.
At the close of the war, he
operated ° a flying field and
flight school in Niagara Falls
He married Alice M. Beach,
in Niagara Falls, in 1923. Mr.
Nelson worked at Bell, Aircraft
and the Carborundum
Co.' until moving to Wilson in
1948.
Prominent in Lodges
He was a member of Exley
Methodist Church, Ontario
Lodge No. 376, F&AM, was
past associate grand sentinel
of Eastern Star of the State
of New York, past commander
of the Niagara Commandery,
No. 64, Knights Templar,
a member of Isroailia
Temple, the IOOF,. No. 881,
and treasurer of the Wilson
Lions Club,
Besides his wife,, he is survived
by two brothers, John
and Clayton Nelson, and two
sisters, Mrs. Grace Tootshacker
and Mrs. Jennie Songer,
all of Detroit; three nephews,
Gordon Nelson, Anchorage,
Alaska, Louis and William
Nelson, both of Niagara-Falls;
two n i e c e s , Mrs. Thomas
Flunkett, Niagara Falls, and
Mrs. William Jackman, Lakewood.
Funeral Arrangements
,The family will be present
° from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
at Hamilton and Clark Funeral
Chapel where services
. will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Tuesday by Rev. Paul Huyett
of Exley Methodist Church.
There will be Eastern Star
services at 7:30 and Masonic
services at 8 p.m. tonight; also
military services at graveside
at Acacia Park Cemetery,
North Tonawanda, at the
burial at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The family said contribu-
tions to th eHeart Fund or
Exley Methodist Church will
be acceptable as tributes.
