Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Meahl,
Portland St., announce the engagement
of their daughter, Valerie
Charlotte Goodin, to Pvt. Donald
St. John, son of Mrs. Marguerite
St. John. Hyde Pk. Blvd.
Pvt. St. John is stationed at Ft.
Eustis, Va. The wedding will take
place in the near future

Carrying a lace covered Bible
mounted with. two white orchids
and- flowered streamers, Miss
Valerie Goodin was united in
marriage to Donald St. John,
Saturday (Sept. 3, 1955) with the
Rev. John Wickenden officiating.
'The altar of Epiphany Episcopal
Church was adorned with;
white gladioli for the double ring
ceremony uniting the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Meahl,
Portland.St., and the son of Mrs.
Marguerite St John, Hyde Park
Blvd.
Given in marriage by, her
father, the bride wore a French
lace gown, with a Queen Anne
collar encrusted with beads and
sequins, and a double tulle skirt
over satin which fell into a
chapel-length train. A scalloped
lace shell cap enhanced with se-
quins, held a fingertip-length veil
of French silk illusion.
Miss Grace Burleigh, as maid
of honor, was attired in a tur-
quoise tulle gown with a satin
cummerbund an dsatin collar and
cuffs, and a jacket with dolman
sleeves. She carried a colonial
bouquet of pink roses and mums,
and wore a matching shell cap
with a circular veil scattered with
sequins.
Miss Sharon Orther and-Miss
Marguerite Craig as; bridesmaids
wore goWns styled like that of
the maid of honor. Miss Ortner's
gown was a shrimp color and she
carried talisman roses and baby
mums. Miss Craig, niece of the
bridegroom, carried yellow roses
and baby mums with her ^pink
gown.
William .Lengen was best man, ;
and seating the guests were Howard
St. John, brother of the bride-
groom and Barry Goodin, brother
of the bride.
For receiving guests at the re-
ception at the Joy Club, the
mother of the bride wore a royal
blue chiffonvelvet dress accented :
with seed pearls and sequins, and
complemented with powder blue ,
accessories. The mother of the .
bridegroom chose gray nylon lace
with mauve satin inserts in the
bodice matching/ a mauve hat.
The corsages for Mrs. Meahl and
Mrs. St. John were purple or-,
chids.
Mr. and Mrs. St. John will be
at home in 2934 Birch Ave.,
when they return from a wedding
trip to Washington, D., C For
her honeymoon, the bride donned
a beige dress with chocolate
brown accessories, completed
with a white orchid corsage.
