NORTH TONAWANDA, Aug.
31-William H. Zappendorf, 77, a
retired farmer, formerly of 9414
Cayuga Dr., Niagara Falls, .died last
evening (Aug. 30, 1955) after a
long illness.
Born at Sanborn he was a lifelong
resident of this area and was
a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran
Church, Bergholtz, and the Golden
Age Club Niagara Falls.
He is survived by a son, Lincoln
Zappendorf, Niagara Falls; two
daughters, Mrs. Franklin Kresheck,
Columbus, O., and Mrs. Leslie
Chase, Buffalo; nine grandchildren;
two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Trosin
Jr., this city, and Mrs. Emma
Werth, Bergholtz.
Last rhes will be held Friday at
2 p.m. at the Hamp Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Oakland Rural
Cemetery, Youngstown.

TROSIN - Rose A. Trosin, 79,
of 258 Adam St., Tonawanda, died
Thursday evening, March 1, 1962,
in Niagara Lutheran Home, Buffalo,
after several years" illness.
Born in Johnsburg, she had been
a resident of Tonawanda the past
25 years. Mrs. Trosin was a
member of Redeemer Lutheran
Church, the Lutheran Women's
Missionary League and the Women's
Auxiliary of the Lutheran
Service Society. She was the widow
of Rudolph Trosin. Survivors
include a stepson, Edward Trosin
of Coulberg, Ont.; a sister, Mrs.
Emma Werth of Bergholz, and
several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at John O. Roth
Funeral Home, Morgan and William
Streets, Tonawanda, where
services will be conducted by the
Rev. Dr. H. G. Kleiner at 2 p.m.
Sunday. Burial in Elmlawn Cemetery.

Previously reported "despond
ent over the death of his wife last
Spring," Henry A. Zappendorf,
60, was found hanging by the neck
early this morning from a bed post
in his home at 1334 Belling Place.
He was pronounced "dead by suicide"
by North Tonawanda Coroner
Dr. Henry C. Lapp.
The body was found by a sonin-
law, Ellsworth Heppler, of the
same address, when he and Mrs.
Heppler returned from an early
evening engagement to their
home, shared with Zappendorf.
The late Mr. Zappendorf was a
life long resident of North Tona-
wanda, the husband of the late
Gertrude Behnke.
He is survived by one son,
Pfc. Elton, with the U. S. Army
in China; two daughters, Mrs.
Ellsworth Heppler, and Myra Zappendorf,
both of North Tonawanda;
one brother William of the
Town of Tonawanda; two sisters,
Mrs. Rudolph Trosin Jr. of Tonawanda
and Mrs. Charles Werth,
Bergholtz.
Funeral will be held from the
residence Monday afternoon at
2:30. with the Rev. F. A. Hinners
officiating.
Interment will be in the St
Paul's cemetery.

City Ambulance to DeGraff Memorial
Hospital with second and third-degree
burns over 50 per cent of his body. He

The North Tonawanda Fire Department
is investigating the blaze.
Mr. Zappendorf had been living with
the Hepplers since a 1971 automobile
accident which left him permanently
disabled. He was a former employe of
the old Bell Aircraft Corp., and was a
member of St. Paul's Lutheran
Church.
He was the husband of the late Mabel
Hibbert Zappendorf. He is survived by
two sisters, Mrs. Heppler and Mrs.
James (Myra) Soos of North
Tonawanda, one niece and one nephew.

NORTH TONAWANDA -
Carl W. Werth, 51, operator of
a farm in Hunt S t r e e t,
Bergholtz, died Monday (Sept.
23, 1968) at Niagara Falls
Memorial Hospital.
He was found next to his
tractor outside Wilbert's Tavern
in Niagara Falls Boulevard, and
was pronounced dead on arrival
at the hospital. Reports of an
autopsy were inconclusive today.
Born in Pontiac, Mich., he
lived in the Town of Wheatfield
for the last 35 years.
Survivors include his mother,
Mrs. Emma Zappendorf of
Bergholtz; two brothers, John
of Grand Island, Donald of
Tonawanda, and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 1:30 p.m. Thursday
in the Wattengel Funeral Home
by the Rev. Robert H. Rose.
Burial will be in St. John
Cemetery, Youngstown.
Friends may call from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m.at the funeral
home.

Werth, age 89, of North Tonawanda, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence after a long illness. Born in Troy, MI, he was the son of the late Charles and Emma (nee Zappendorf) Werth and was an Army veteran of WWII. A lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, Donald had been employed at the Exolon Company and was a life member and Past Commander of the American Legion, Tonawandas Post No. 264. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (nee Wienke) Werth; two daughters, Joselyn D. Szafranski and Rebecca (Samuel) Albert; and six grandchildren, Eric Szafranski, Christine (Jeff) Schroer, Samuel (Mackenzie) Albert, Wesley J. Albert, Brandon M. Albert and Stephanie (Marc) Eberz. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
