Irene E. Fox died suddenly
today.
She was a member of St.
Mary's Church and St. Mary's
Mothers Club. She was also
election inspector for the
Orleans County Democratic
Party for many years.
She was the wife of the late
James L. Fox.
Surviving are three children,
Mary Alice, at home, Mrs.
Robert (Joan) Ames, and
James (Theresa) Fox, both of
Lockport; six grandchildren,
Mrs. James (Sandra) Hutchison,
Judith and Robert
Ames, and Douglas, Timothy
and James Fox, all of Lockport;
one great-grandchild,
Jessica Marie.
Also, she was the sister of
Miss Loretta Steblein of Olean,
N.Y., William Steblein, Lockport,
and Mrs. Charles (Veronica)
Forness, Lockport. She
is also survived by several
nieces and nephews. , ,,
Friends may call at deary
Funeral Home, Park Avenue,
Saturday and Sunday (2-4, 7-9).
The funeral will be held at St
Mary's Church, West Avenue,
on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Burial
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

MEDINA — Mary Alice Fox, of Medina, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Miss Fox was born in Medina, November 6, 1929, a daughter of the late James M. and Irene E. (Steblein) Fox. A graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1948, she was employed by New York Telephone, as a telephone operator, for 15 years. She retired from Medina Memorial Hospital where she worked in the medical billing department, following 38 years of service. She was a lifelong communicant at St. Mary's Church, was an active member of the Business and Professional Women of Medina and enjoyed bowling. She was an avid supporter of the University of Notre Dame, Niagara University and Buffalo Sabres teams. She leaves behind a longtime, faithful companion, her Jack Russell Terrier, Baley Marie.

Mary Alice enjoyed visiting with her relatives in Wicklow, Republic of Ireland.

Survivors include her brother, James M. (Theresa) Fox of Lockport; her brother-in-law, Robert Ames of Lockport; six nieces and nephews, Sandra (James) Hutchison of Lockport, Judith (Thomas) Moss of Buffalo, Robert Ames of Lockport, Douglas (Cynthia) Ames of Lockport, Timothy (Katherine) Fox of North Tonawanda, James (Lynn) Fox of Middleport; several great- nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great- niece. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan Ames.

Friends may call on Thursday (2-4, 7-9) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Mary's Cemetery.
