MILDRED SHERWOOD
Mildred(Millie) Sherwood, formally of Sanborn, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 in Venice, FL, after a brief illness. Millie was born May 18, 1924 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Fred and Mabel Berger. She graduated from LaSalle High School and worked for a short time for the Wendt's Dairy. She married her high school sweetheart, William Sherwood on her birthday, May 18, 1946. Millie then left her job to raise her family and help with the family farm. She spent many years selling produce at the Niagara Falls City Market, even after becoming snow birds and traveling to Florida for the winter. They officially gave up farming and retired to Venice eight years ago. Besides her husband, Bill, she is survived by her children, Kenneth (Jane) of Sanborn, David (Bonnie) of Venice FL, Patricia (Mark) Jenks of Lakewood, OH and Douglas (Kim) of Newfane, NY; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Edward, Robert, Richard and Fred Berger, and sisters, Eleanor Piper and Mickey Benthin, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, William Sherwood, Jr. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lockport and the Venice Nokomas Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 18th at 2 PM at the Venice Nokomas Methodist Church. A local Memorial Service to celebrate Millie's life will be locally at a later date. Interment at Northridge Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorials may be made to Venice Nokomas Church or a charity of one's choice.

NIAGARA FALLS -
Robert Berger, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on June 11, 2014. Born on July 28, 1929 in West Seneca, NY, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Mabel (Mohr) Berger.
Mr. Berger attended local schools and resided in Laguna Hills, CA for the past eight years. On April 12, 1957, he married the former Marilyn Dunton. She predeceased him on August 19, 1996. Robert proudly served in the United States Army, from February 12, 1951, until his honorable discharge on February 22, 1953. He was employed by Great Lakes Carbon and Occidental Chemical Corporation, until he retired in 1991. Mr. Berger was an avid New York Yankees fan and loved country music, traveling and old cars.
Mr. Berger is survived by two daughters, Robbi (late Steve) Scalzo and Kim (Dane) Andersen; and was predeceased by one son, James Berger. Robert is also survived by three grandchildren, Ashley Berger and Noah and Shane Andersen; two great-grandchildren, Aihana and Dean Raymond; siblings, Mickey (Roger) Benthin and Fredrick (Nora) Berger; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, wife and son, Robert was predeceased by siblings, Eleanor (late Hank) Piper, Mildred (late Bill) Sherwood, Norman Berger, Ed (late Gail) Berger and Richard (Pat) Berger.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, July 18th at 1:00 PM which will be celebrated in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007), with Rev. Kim Smith officiating. A private inurnment will be held in Acacia Park Cemetery in North Tonawanda, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 or to the American Lung Association of the Northeast 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.

He was lastly employed with the Village of Lewiston, previously working as a truck driver for City of Niagara Falls Sanitation Dept.Chuck enjoyed NASCAR and going to Ransomville Speedway.He is survived by his brother Richard Piper of Lewiston.Per request no services will be held, burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.Memorial may be made to Lewiston # 1 Fire Co.
