WILSON. April 17-William F.
Albright. 82. former mayor and one
of she best known residents of
Wilson, died Saturday afternoon at
the family home in Lake street.
Mr. Albright was born in Wilson,
March 7. 1868. and had lived
here all his life. When a young
man he worked as a carpenter
during, the time the first dwellings
were beinig erected at Sunset
Beach.
Later he entered the farm implement
sales business in a store on
the present site of the Kendall
service station in Lake street. On
the second floor of the building
was the Albright opera house
operated by Mr. Albright for over
25 years. This was before the days
of the motion picture and a great
variety of traveling shows and
other old time entertainment trod
the boards of the Albright theater.
.Entered Contracting Business
Liter Mr. Albright sold out his
business interests to Loomis and
Putnam and entered the building
contracting business which he con-
ducted successfully until he was
forced to retire because of advanc-
ing years.
A staunch Democrat in politics,
Mr. Albright served several terms
as mayor of Wilson and was village
clerk for six years. He was also
Democratic committeeman for Wil-
son for many years.

Exley Methodist church with the
Rev. Walter Kingsley officiating.
Interment will be in Greenwood
cemetery.

Leona M. Albright of Mississippi, formerly of Newfane, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, in Starkville, MS. She was born in Wilson, NY, on July 10, 1910, daughter of the late Fred and Mary Jarchow Albright.

Leona was a supervisor for Lockport Felt Co. for 49 years in Newfane, NY, and Mississippi. She was a member of the Joyful Noise Makers Kitchen Band. She also volunteered in the Brialle Ministry and worked in the Oktibbeha Hospital gift shop for many years. She had a passion for growing violets in her home.

Sister of the late Verna Sasse, Esther, Arthur, William, Edward, Chester, Lavalle and Melvin Albright. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Donations to Concordia Lutheran Church, 3121 Beebe Rd., Newfane, NY, 14108 would be appreciated by the family.

Jean E. Glynn passed away September 2, 2021 in Lockport Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.  Born October 19, 1931 in Lockport she was the daughter of Chester and Beatrice (Shepard) Albright.  Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Ticor Title.  Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband Charles Glynn on February 16, 2012, her grandson Joseph K. Schuler and her brother Alvin Albright.
Jean is survived by her children Michael (Jay) Glynn, Mark (Teri) Glynn, Timothy (Susan) Glynn, Thomas (Suzanne) Glynn, Daniel (late Donna) Glynn, and Diane (Kurt) Schuler; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

(Wichita Falls, TX) - Lt. Col. Daniel "Dan" Albright, 72, of Wichita Falls, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009. A graveside service was conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, TX.Dan was the son of the late Harold and Esther (Campbell) Albright. He was born on December 14, 1936 in Niagara Falls, NY. He was raised in the small farming community of Wilson, NY on the shores of Lake Ontario. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1954. He attended college at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH, graduating in 1958 with a B.A. degree in Psychology. At that time he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force. Lt. Albright began his military career at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, reporting in October 1958. His move from Wilson, NY to San Antonio was accomplished via a 1957 MGA convertible with all his worldly possessions in the very small trunk, as well as passenger compartment. He was then stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls.At the old age of 25, he served as Captain during the Cuba Crisis and was Crew Chief Commander in the Missile Silo out of Abilene. It was during this tour that Dan met a rancher and learned to break horses. He soon learned he was a Texan in heart and spirit.Throughout the rest of his military career, Dan was stationed in Rome, NY, Oklahoma City, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany and Washington, D.C. During his tour in southeast Asia he lead secret commando missions into Laos and Cambodia. He was later working with the Office of Special Investigation and was stationed at Ramstcin Air Force Base in Germany. While working in Germany he became acquainted with the German Director of all NATO personnel, who visited him for several years after his retirement. Dan enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and especially loved Austria.After his tour in Germany, Col. Albright was then transferred to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., where he was working with the Office of Special Investigation and worked with top secret clearances. Dan proudly served our country until retiring in 1979 as Lt. Colonel. He then went back to Wichita Falls where he was employed at Midwestern State University from 1980 to 1995. It was there Dan met his wife, Ruby Wallace Rawn, and they later married in April 1999. He was a member of Grace Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dan loved being out in the woods, as well as fishing on Lake Ontario just blocks from his childhood home.He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Rawn Albright of Wichita Falls, TX; daughters, LeAnne Henderson, Britt Rothenborg and Cindy Arnold; step-son, Thomas Henderson and four grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Cindy Townsend (Gerald) of Youngstown, NY; niece, Heather Anello (Sal) and nephew, Scott Townsend (Amy), also of Youngstown, NY; four grand-nephews and one grand-niece. RANSOMVILLE - Gary J. Culverwell of Ransomville, NY, formerly of Newfane, NY, entered into rest Monday, May 5, 2014, at home. He was born in Riverside, CA, July 19, 1957, the son of Sheran Albright Culverwell of Newfane, NY and the late James C. Culverwell, Sr. He was US Army veteran.

Gary worked for Hobb's Farm in Burt, NY for many years. Gary enjoyed helping his family and friends anytime, avid Buffalo Bills fan, enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling, his dogs and musician Pat Benatar.

Obituary of Chad Matthew Grout

Born in Lockport, N.Y., Chad's parents provided him a childhood filled with home-cooked meals, family gatherings, hunting, fishing and Little League games. There was an atmosphere of doing life together with grandparents and extended family; inviting friends into the circle.
Chad attended Lockport High School and graduated from the University of Buffalo, where he amused everyone he met with his spirited ways. After landing his first professional job as an occupational therapist in 1996, Chad met Amy and began entertaining her friends and family as well as a long line of his own bosses and coworkers. A succession of medical/sales positions served as an outlet for his intellectual growth and strong desire to excel while always providing for his family. His unfailing work ethic modeled strongly for his own children and others, creating a particularly special connection with one foster child, Will.
Dancing and cooking his way through life, Chad was often creating, building and doing. He ran marathons and ultra-marathons, built anything and everything his family might need and did it all without blinking an eye. Efficiency and effectiveness were natural talents. And although Chad couldn't help but reach destinations ahead of everyone else, he would always circle back.
Until we catch up, Chad, you will be missed beyond measure. You are so loved.
Chad is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amy; children Matthew (Nadya), Faye and Maura; father James Grout; mother and stepfather Elaine and John Wehrlin; brother Tony Grout; sister Gina Goff; nephews Canaan (Tori) Grout and Connor Grout, and niece Kennedy Grout.

William Orndorff Life Story

William Orndorff, 59, of Largo, FL, passed away on January 15, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1964. William was a kind hearted, loving and generous person.

William is survived by his sister, Laurie Kosut (Darryl Kosut); nephews, Frank Coseglia and Chris Coseglia; niece, Courtney Coseglia (Wesley Dillon), and their 4 children, Evelynn, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Ezra and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Orndorff; mother, Shirley Peck and step-father, Alfred Peck.

William attended Niagara Wheatfield High School. Following his education, he served in the United States Navy for 9 years. William was proud of his military associations.

After his military service, William worked at General Abrasives, as a machinist. He then moved on to pursue a career as a firefighter at the Niagara Falls Airbase, where he retired. His dedication and bravery in serving the community will always be remembered.

William loved the outdoors, especially the Adirondacks. He also loved hunting, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time in Florida.

His passing comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time. He will be sadly missed.

The family will be present to honor William's life and legacy on Saturday, February 3rd,  from 2-5 p.m., concluding with Military Honors, at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).
