    Grove Cemetery, Poland, in lieu
    of flowers, friends may consider the
    American Cancer Fund.

    POLAND - Reuben H. Alton

    Jr., 36, of Poland; died Wednes-
    day in St. Luke's Memorial Hos
    pltal Center.
    He was born in New Hartford
    son of Reuben and Thelma Ved-
    der Alton. He married Kathleen
    Schroeder in 1958 in Utica. He
    was secretary and treasurer of
    Reuben H Alton and Son Inc.
    He was a member of Poland
    Community Baptist Church;
    junior warden of Newport, Ma-.
    sonic Lodge; Poland volunteer
    f i r e dept; past master of the
    North Star Grange; a member
    of the Herkimer County Pomona
    and N.Y.S. Grange; the Honey
    Hill Country Club; chairman of
    the plannlng board, Poland the
    Piseco Fish and Game Club; and
    the Cub Scouts committee.
    Mr. Alton was an Army vet

    eran, having served in Germany.
    He attended, the Utica School
    of Commerce ftnd Syracuse Uni-
    versity.
    Besides his wife, he leaves.
    two daughters, Michele and Ilsa,
    and a son. Gavin, all at home;
    his parents; and a sister, Mrs.
    William (Janet) Coleman, Syracuse.
    The funeral will be at 3 Satur-
    day from the Autenrith Funeral
    Home. Burial will be in Pine
    Grove Cemetery.
    Calling hours are from 7 to 9
    tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
    Friday

    Michele S. Alton, 25, of 159 Main Street,
    Whitesboro and formerly of Poland,
    died unexpectedly January 15, 1985 at
    her residence.
    Michele was born November 17.1959
    in Utica. the daughter of Kathleen Schroeder
    Alton and the late Reuben Alton.
    Jr. She graduated from Poland Central
    School in 1977 and attended Wells College.
    Michele later attended St. Elizabeth's
    School of Nursing and was
    employed at the Junior Junction Nursery
    School. Utica. She was a member of
    St. John's Church of Newport.
    Survivors include her mother, Mrs.
    Kathleen Alton of Poland: one sister,
    Lisa Coe of Poland; one brother, Gavin,
    stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany;
    her maternal grandmother.
    Mrs. Kathryn Schroeder oiPoland; her
    paternal grandparents. Mr. and Mrs.
    Reuben Alton. Sr. of Poland: two nephews
    and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Friends are invited to attend her Funeral
    Mass on Friday at 10 a.m. at St.
    John's Church, Newport. Spring interment
    will take place in the Pine Grove
    Cemetery, Poland. There are no calling
    hours. Memorials may be made to
    K.V.A.C. Arrangements are with the
    Autenrith Funeral Home. Newport.
