    KATHER - Earl F. Jr. Age 86, of North Tonawanda, June 18, 2013 in the Veterans Administration Home in Batavia after a brief illness. Army veteran of WWII. He had worked as a lab technician for Thomas Turtle Opticians. He was a member of the American Legion, Sikora Post. He was the husband of the late Evelyn Kather (nee Foser) who died on January 3, 2013; dear father of Michael (Christine) Kather of Webster, NY, David Kather of Syracuse, NY and Alan (Suzie) Kather of Wilmington, DE; grandfather of 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother of Kenneth Kather of the Town of Tonawanda; uncle of many nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon from St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 1208 Oliver St., North Tonawanda, interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the New York State Veteran's Home, 220 Richmond Ave., Batavia, NY 14020/ attn. Sally Phelix. Guest register available at frettholdfuneralhome.com
