afternoon at the home on the Carmen
road north of Middleport. He
leaves his wife, Lydia Bowers
Bailey, four sons, Henry Bailey of
Lyndonville, Roy Bailey of Lock-
port and Joseph and Clarence
Bailey at home.
The funeral was held this after-
noon at 2 o'clock at the home with
burial in Hartland Central ceme-
tery.

of this city for 50 years, Mrs.
Helen E. Rose, 76, widow of William
H. Rose, died yesterday at her
home, 31 Elmwood Ave. She had
been in failing health for two
years.
Born at Hartland, Mn. Rose
was the daughter of Henry and
Phoebe Seaman Bailey. She came
to Lockport after her marriage and
lived in the same house for 50
years. She was a member of Lockport
Chapter 73, OES, and Myrtle
Rcbekah Lodge 84, IOOF.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Harold LeValley; one son, Donald
L. Rose, both of' this city; two
stepdaughten, Mrs. William Collopy,
this city, and Mrs. George
Harrold, Lyndonville; one stepson,
Duette W. Rose, in California, and
two brothers, Edson Bailey, Medina,
and Benjamin H. Bailey, Newfane.
Services will be held Monday
at 2 p.m. at the Kennedy Funeral
Home with interment in Hartland

LOCKPORT—An autopsy has revealed that a
heart attack caused the death of Clarence D. Bailey,
56, of 5285 Lower Mountain Road, Town of Lockport,
who was found Monday afternoon in the midst of a
spreading grass fire on the used car lot he operated.
Mr. Bailey, an auto dealer
here for more than 30 years,
was found lying in the center
of a grass-car' fire by a neighbor,
Allen Graham, 5320 Blck-
ert Place, Just east of the used
car lot
Mr. and Mrs. Graham saw
smoke coming from the used
car lot. They ran over to the
lot, but could not locate Mr.
Bailey. Mr. Graham then
spotted Mr. Bailey lying near
the center of the blaze which
had spread to a car.
Mr. Graham called the
South Lockport Volunteer Fire
Co. which put out the blase.
He also called the Niagara
County Sheriffs Department.
Two deputies came to the
scene, where they found the
grass and a car in flames.
Mr. Graham showed them the
body of a man was was Identified
as Clarence Bailey by
his son, Clarence Bailey Jr.
of Newfane.
Deputies said it seemed apparent
that Mr. Bailey was
trying to extinguish the blase
with a broom which was found
near his body. No cause has
been determined for the blase.
Coroner Oscar H. Bell di-
rected the Gaul Funeral Home
to take the body to Lockport
Memorial Hospital, where an
autopsy was performed. Mr.
Bell said that Mr. Bailey also
had suffered serious back
burns.

LOCKPORT — Norman R. Bailey, of Lockport, NY, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. Born on November 11, 1929 in Medina, he was the son of Roy and Lillian Thiel Bailey. Mr. Bailey retired in 1993 after 31 years from Harrison Radiator where he was a Senior Overseas Designer.

Predeceased in 2001 by his beloved wife, Marilyn Wetzel Bailey, he is survived by his daughter, Karen (Michael Barclay) Bailey and son, Paul (Erin) Bailey, both of Lockport; seven grandchildren and his sister, Betty Davis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6965 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, NY. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., Roswell Park Cancer Institute or the church of one's choice.

She was born in Medina, NY April 29, 1927 the daughter of the late Roy and Lillian Thiel Bailey. Betty was a bookkeeper at several local businesses for many years. She married her late husband James October 18, 1947. Betty was a member of the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Lockport, NY and enjoyed traveling, cooking, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Mother of Richard (Margaret) Davis, Nancy (Paul) Phillips and Ann (Gary) Davis-Elling. Grandmother of Gregory (Katie) Davis, Marie (Keith) Reese, Kyle (Kristen) Phillips, Marc (Susan) Phillips, Nate (Brittanie) Phillips, Benjamin Elling and Andrew Elling. Sister of the late Norman Bailey. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren and  several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 9:30 AM at Mt. Obituary of Susan Winkley Susan C. Winkley, age 63 of Youngstown, quietly passed from the loving arms of Tweedy Greene and her family into the arms of her Creator on Thursday April 23, 2015 in the Buffalo General Medical Center after a lengthy illness.Susan was born March 28, 1952 in Lockport, the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Bailey) Winkley. She was a graduate of Newfane High School, attended SUNY Brockport, and received her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing from Niagara University. Susan worked as a family Nurse Practitioner for many years and received multiple service and nursing awards throughout her career. She devoted her life to caring for others and was a longtime friend of "Bill W."Susan loved the Adirondack Mountains, camping, and hiking. She enjoyed scavenger hunts, her pet cats, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.In addition to her loving companion, Tweedy Greene, she is survived by her children, Malena (Timothy) King-Jones of Sanborn, Jesse Taylor of Mt. Morris, NY, and Saith Shine of Sanborn; a brother, Ronald (Laurene) Winkley of Lewiston; two sisters, Ann (Duane) Wruck and Molly (Claude) Brown both of Newfane; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 26, at 6:30 pm in the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 5035 Walmore Rd. with the Rev. Donald Robinson officiating. There will be no prior visitation.
