    of 21 Ward Rd.. Town of Wheatfield,
    died Satruday evening (June
    21, 1958) at his residence after a
    lingering illness. He was a mem-
    ber of First Presbyterian Church,
    Tonawanda, and had been em-
    ployed by Columbus McKinnon
    Chain Corp. for 25 years until his
    retirement. Surviving are his wife,
    Harriet (nee Rich), three daugh-
    ters, Mrs. Ernest Vigrass, Mrs.
    Glen Sisson and Mrs. Fred Kol-
    pack and one son, Harvey L. all
    of the Tonawandas; eight grand-
    children; two sisters, Miss Lydia
    Baker and Mrs. Henry Reinbolt
    both of Tonawanda, and two
    brothers, Elmer Baker of Batavia,
    N. Y., and Robert Baker of Free-
    port, L.I. Friends may call at the
    Creasey Funeral Home, 93 Adam
    St., Tonawanda, where services
    will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
    The Rev. Donald V. Roberts will
    officiate. Burial in White Chapel
    Memorial Park.

    Desk Lieutenant Walter J. Baker,
    who succumbed to an illness of a
    few days with pneumonia in the
    General hospital, Buffalo as an
    nounced in The Mews yesterday.
    was one of the best known members
    of the Tonawanda police department.
    He became a member
    of the department on March 6,
    1916, serving first as patrolman,,
    later as desk lieutenant and then
    as chief in 1926 and 1927, follow-
    int which he rturned to the posi-
    tion which he occupied at the time
    of his death.
    Baker was a life-long resident of
    Tonawanda. He was prominent as
    a football and baseball player in
    his early manhood. He was the
    father of Richard Baker, who was
    an outstanding member of the
    Tonawanda high school football
    team in recent years.
    Baker was identified with a number
    of civic and fraternal organisations.
    His associations included
    memberships in Niagara River
    lodge, No. 527, I.O.O F.; Niagara
    Encampment, No. 132, I.O.O.F.;
    North Tonawanda lodge. No. 860,
    B.P.O.E.; the Niagara Hose company,
    the Eldredge Bicycle club,
    and the First Presbyterian church
    When the Frontier Police club
    was organized by the Tonawanda
    police department, Baker was chos-
    en its president.
    He is survived by a wife. Helena;
    a daughter. Pearl; three sons, Richard
    A., Howard L. and Walter J..
    Jr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
    Baker; two sisters, the Misses
    Lydia and Pauline, all of Tona-
    wanda, and four brothers, Harvey,
    Tonawanda, Elmer, Batavia, Ralph,
    Irvington, N.J., and Robert, Monti-
    cello, N.Y.
    Funeral services will be .held
    Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
    from the residence, 447 Fletcher
    street. Rev. Wesley Baker of the
    First Presbyterian church will officiate.
    The services will be in
    charge of Niagara River lodge.
    Members of the police department
    will act as pallbearers. Burial will
    be in White Chapel cemetery.

    Mrs. Pauline B. Reinbolt, 73, a
    former Tonawanda schoolteach-
    er, died yesterday at DeGraff
    Memorial Hospital.
    A native of Tonawanda, she re-
    sided at 89 Minerva St. and was
    a schoolteacher 43 years. She
    taught in Tonawanda from 1914
    to 1925 and later in Buffalo until
    1955, when she retired.
    She was a member of the New
    York State Teacher's Association
    and the Retired Teacher's
    Association.
    The former Miss Baker, she
    was the widow of Henry N. Rein-
    bolt, who died in March, 1951.
    She was a member of
    Presbyterian Church, the Wom-
    an's Association and was active
    in-the church Sunday School for
    many years.
    Survivors include a sister,
    Miss Lydia Baker of Tonawanda;
    two brothers, Elmer Baker
    of Batavia and Robert Baker of
    Wantagh, L. I., and several
    nieces and nephews.
    The Creasey Memorial Chapel,
    138 Delaware St., Tonawanda
    is in charge of arrangements.

    TALLAHASSEE, FL β€” Caroline Louise (nee Baker) Kolpack, age 90, of North Tonawanda and formerly of the City of Tonawanda, passed away peacefully November 27, 2010 in Tallahassee, FL, following a long illness. Born in Tonawanda on July 13, 1920, she was the wife of the late Fred W. Kolpack; daughter of the late Harvey P. and Harriet Rich Baker and sister of the late Mildred Vigrass, Harvey Baker and Ruth Sisson. Caroline was a member of Circle II and a past member of the Board of Deacons of First Presbyterian Church.

    She is survived by her daughter, Linda D. Carter and son-in-law, Frank H. Carter of Tallahassee, FL; and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.

    Caroline never met a stranger and lived the inscription she chose to be placed under her picture in her high school yearbook by Walt Whitman, β€œthe only way to have a friend is to be one.”

    There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 9th at 11 AM in First Presbyterian Church, 149 Broad St., in Tonawanda. Friends invited. The Rev. Edmund Hoener will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Tonawanda, NY. Arrangements by John O.     AMHERST β€” Nina J. (nee Dirmyer) Croff, age 73, of North Tonawanda, Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, she was a 1957 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Pearl (nee Baker) Dirmyer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Niagara Frontier Travelers, Swiftwater Power and Sail Squadron, and Women's Auxiliary of Inner Harbor Yacht Club. Nina was an avid boater and motor home traveler and her greatest joy was her husband and her family.

    She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronald B. Croff; three sons, Kenneth (Kathleen) Croff of San Diego, CA, Scott (Debbie) Croff of Allen, TX, and Mark (Deb) Croff of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren, Patrick Dale, Kelly, Stacy and Chris Croff; a brother, Richard (Rosa) Dirmyer of Elkhart, IN; and a sister-in-law, Sondra (Richard) Maglisceau of Frisco, TX. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St., in Tonawanda, where services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday evening following the visitation. Rev. Gregory Crispell will officiate. A private family interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family of Nina invites friends and relatives to join their family at a luncheon on Friday, July 20th at 11:00 AM, at Inner Harbor Yacht Club, 50 Fillmore Ave., in Tonawanda.

She was surrounded by her family, lots of love, and all the powerful prayers said on her behalf. The daughter of Roger and Deborah Vigrass, she was born on July 28, 1975 and lived in Tonawanda, NY. Christin moved to Florida in 2003 where she married her loving husband, David Gopaul, on January 17, 2009. Christin was an enthusiastic and dedicated mother to her children, Dominic and Ethan, and we know that she will forever watch over them as they continue to grow. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Janine; brother, Nathan; godparents, Barbara and Frank Giancola; aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and countless friends. A Celebration of Life Mass was held in the Chapel of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, FL on July 9, 2014.
