50, of 427 Washburn street, one of
five persons injured at 3:40 Sun-
day morning in a crash between
two automobiles in the Lockport-
Olcott road near Corwins, seven
miles north of here, died shortly
after midnight yesterday in Lock-
port City hospital. A fractured skull
and internal injuries caused death.
The injured, all in the Lockport
hospital, were Frederick C. Berger,
22, of 102 Ontario street, operator
of the other machine; Marie Bed-
ford, 19, of 427 Washburn street;
Edward r. Carey, 18, of 385 South
street, all Lockport addresses, and
Sylvia Enderby, 18, of 131 South
Main street, Newfane.
The most seriously hurt is Miss
Bedford. She suffered a compound
fracture of the right elbow and
possible internal injuries. Mr. Carey
received a fractured right ankle
and a cut over the right eye. Miss
Enderby was cut on the left knee
and toe and suffered bruises. Mr.
Barger complained of chest injuries.
Mr. Baldwin, who drove his own
car. was a native of the Town of
Lockport. He was employed by the
Richmond Manufacturing company
of this city. He Is survived by a
daughter. Miss Frances Baldwin,
Lockport: five sisters and five
brothers, Mrs. Anthony Van Horn,
Mrs. James Crlswell. William. Roy

after more than four months

Mr. Baldwin had been employed

NEWFANE — Gertrude M. Dettmer (Baldwin), age 91, entered into rest at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane, Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born June 6, 1921 in Lockport, Gert was the daughter of the late Raymond and Christine (Suttell) Baldwin.

Gert married Wilbert "Bill" Dettmer August 31, 1940 in Somerset. Bill died November 10, 1986. She had worked at Newfane Central Schools as a custodian for 10 years, retiring in 1983.

Besides her husband, Bill, Gert was predeceased by siblings, Eleanor Zastrow, Ruth Zastrow, Ninerva Porter and Raymond Baldwin. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

There will be no prior visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to a charity of one's choice.

GASPORT — Jennie M. Loftus (Starks), age 86, of Gasport, entered into rest on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at her home. Born February 28, 1927 in Middleport, Jennie was the daughter of the late Charles and Marian (Baldwin) Starks.

Jennie was a graduate of Barker Central School. Jennie married George J. Loftus December 15, 1945, at St. Patrick's R.C. Church in Barker. They had been married for 49 years. Mr. Loftus died June 26, 1994. Jennie had worked at Harrison Radiator, retiring in 1984 after 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, spending time with family and friends and coloring with her great-grandkids. Jennie was a member of Covenant United Church of Christ and had lived in Gasport for most of her life.

Surviving Jennie are her children, George Loftus, John Loftus and Patricia (Kelton) Cake. Grandmother to Michelle (Jay) Lewis, Deanna Loftus, Joseph (Sarah) Cake, Jason (Amanda) Cake and Michael (Kristen) Cake. Great-grandmother to Gabrielle and Grayson Lewis; Matthew, Bridget and Allison Cake; and Isis and Mannox Cake. Sister of Nettie Stout and the late Henry Starks, Charles Starks and Grace Epps. Jennie was predeceased by a son, Robert Loftus.

She enjoyed line dancing, bowling, reading, home decorating, crafts and gardening. ROCHESTER — Mary Alice LaSpada (Seiler), formerly of Medina, passed away on Saturday evening, July 20, 2013, at Unity Health System, Rochester.

Mrs. LaSpada was born in Lockport, January 21, 1932, a daughter of the late Frederick and Erma Anna (Baldwin) Seiler. On March 31, 1951, she married Joseph J. "Tomato Joe, The Jock" LaSpada, Sr., at St. Joseph's Church in DeRidder, LA. The couple resided in Lockport for a few years. During the 1950s and 60s, they operated a farm in Jeddo and in 1971 moved to Medina. She was employed by Ridge Road Express and the Medina Central School District, as a school bus driver. Later, she worked for Eastman Kodak Company, retiring in 1992.

Survivors include three daughters, Diane (Charles) Hage, Debbie LaSpada and Kathy (Darren) Mahoney; her daughter-in-law, Debra S. LaSpada; eight grandchildren, Joe LaSpada III, Chad, Jason, Ryan and Lindsay Hage, Kristina LaSpada, Kevin and Sean Mahoney; a great-grandchild, Kelsie Jo LaSpada; her sister, Sharon Mack and two brothers, Duane (Patty) Seiler and Michael Seiler; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband on September 27, 2012; and her son, Joseph J. "Smokin Joe" LaSpada, Jr. on January 29, 2007.

Friends may call on Thursday (6-9) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Duane "Sy" Seiler, age 72, of Gasport, entered into rest at his home on Saturday, November 7, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 22, 1943 in Lockport he is the son of Fredrick and Erma (Baldwin) Seiler.

Sy is a 1963 graduate of Royalton Hartland High School. He married Patricia Lee March 29, 1975 in Lockport. Sy worked as a shipping foreman for Niagara Specialty Metals in Akron, NY retiring in 2005. Previously he had worked for Simonds Steel for 20 years.

As an avid hunter and member of the Hartland Conservation Club, Sy had gone on many hunting trips including Africa and Canada. Sy also enjoyed gardening. He had lived in the Royalton area all of his life

Surviving is his wife, Patricia Seiler and children, Duane (Erica Zipp) Seiler of Gasport, Tammy (Greg) Lennon of Lockport, and Angela (Jim) Spark of Gasport; brother of Sharon Mack of Rochester. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frederick, Kenneth, Charles, Richard, David and Michael and a sister, Mary LaSpada; seven grandchildren also survive Sy; Luke and Evangeline Seiler, Cora and Meghan Lennon, Casey and Caleb Spark and Mark Zipp. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Zastrow; dear father of Brenda (Gary) Sharpsteen of Clarence, Herbert (Angie) Zastrow of Lancaster, Beverly Kelly of North Tonawanda and Douglas (Joanne) Zastrow of Woodbridge, NJ; grandfather of six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. NORTH TONAWANDA — Donald R. Zastrow, age 80, of North Tonawanda, October 3, 2012 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Mr. Zastrow was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a former employee of the Wurlitzer Co. and ITT Aimco.

He was the husband of the late Caroline Zastrow. Beloved father of Teea (Christopher) Maziarz of North Tonawanda. Grandfather of Shani (Marty) Walton of North Tonawanda. Great-grandfather of Nakita. Brother of Herbert Zastrow of North Tonawanda and the late James Zastrow and Audrey Zastrow.

(Gasport) Gerald R. Porter age 81 passed away in peace on November 22, 2020. He was born September 26, 1939 in Lockport, the third son of the late Raymond and Minerva (Baldwin) Porter.Gerald was a loyal GM retiree and spent time enjoying woodworking, tractor restoration and farming. He was a member of the John Deere Two Cylinder Club. Gerald was a Boy Scout Leader for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, riding his motorcycle and traveling. Gerald joined his wife Marge; his oldest son Gerry; great-grandson Gerry; brothers Ron, Kenneth, Robert (Judy). He is survived by his son James (Susie) Porter; his daughter Deborah (Michael) Horton; step-daughters Sandy (Terry) Lund, Terri (Steve) Keenan; 18 grandchildren; a tribe of great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Nella Porter as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.His Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday November 25th at 11:00am at Quaker Road United Methodist Church, 2800 Quaker Rd., Gasport NY 14067. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice. Gerald’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, Gasport. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 2, 1969 he was the son of the late Frederick and Ruby (Burning) Seiler and attended local schools. Christopher worked at Slipko's, Tops, Dairy Queen and lastly as a manager of courier operations at Livingston International.
