    WILSON - Beatrice Martha Brawn, age 100, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Born February 27, 1912 in Wilson, she was a daughter of the late Emil and Mary Katherine (Drewes) Schuman.

    Beatrice was a lifelong resident of Wilson. As a child she attended a one-room school house and worked on the family farm, tending to an egg route and Welch's Grape Vineyards. She married the late Thomas Bates Brawn, Jr. and they opened and managed the Ferguson Tractor Dealership in Wilson. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Ridge; The Altar Guild, and a charter member of the Wilson Conservation Club Auxiliary. Most dear to her heart were her family and friends, always putting others before herself.

    Surviving her are two daughters, Rosemary (William) Smith of Wilson and Renee (James) Reynolds of Lockport; and one son, Larry (Muriel) Brawn of Anderson, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Wayne and George Pink.

    Friends may call Saturday, June 30 from 4 to 8 PM at the Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson. Funeral service will be held Sunday, at 2 PM at St Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, North Ridge, Lockport.     Rosemary Ann (Brawn) Smith lifelong resident of Wilson, passed September 26, 2016 at her home with her family at her side while under Niagara Hospice Care. Born July 13, 1943 in Niagara Fall, NY she was a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Beatrice (Schuman) Brawn. She is a 1961 graduate of Wilson High School and attended Niagara County Community College Then Buffalo Nursing School where she earned her Registered Nursing Degree. Rosemary worked for Newfane Hospital for several years in the Emergency Room and Operating Room she also did home care nursing and was active in 4 H, St. Peter’s Church and the School PTL at Northridge. She met and married William G. Smith September 28, 1973. Rosemary enjoyed camping and fishing at the Sothern tier cottage in West Almond and liked to go out to dinner and car rides with her mother. Surviving are husband William G. Smith of Wilson; son Karl T. Smith of Lewiston; and David Tubridy a great family friend; brother Larry (Muriel) Brawn of Anderson, SC; sister Renee (James) Reynolds of Lockport. Also survived by nieces nephews and cousins. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 Friday in the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home 270 Young Street Wilson. Funeral Services will be Saturday 11 A.M. in St. Peters Lutheran Church Northridge Memorial Contributions to St. Peter’s. Arrangements by Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home.

    Notes:

    Larry Thomas Brawn passed away on July 27, 2019. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 25, 1945, he was the son of Thomas and Beatrice (Schuman) Brawn. He attended Wilson High School, SUNY Morrisville, and Niagara University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.

    Larry partnered with his father as a local Massey Ferguson dealer. He met his wife Muriel in college and they were married on August 6, 1966. Larry was employed by Occidental Chemical Corporation (Hooker Chemical) as an Accountant and Manager of the railcar fleet. He was a lifetime member of the Wilson Conservation Club, enjoyed fishing in the French River, was an avid hunter, and spent much of his time at the family hunting cabin in the Southern Tier.

    Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Muriel (Faery); daughter Tanya (Joseph) Okoniewski of Ransomville; son Darren Brawn of Keller, Texas; and sister Renee (James) Reynolds. He was known as ‘Papa’ to five grandchildren, Collin (Anderson), Reid, Dalton, Austin, and Emma. He is also survived by one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Rosemary (William) Smith.

    A memorial service will take place at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (4169 Church Road, Lockport, NY 14094) on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Wilson Conservation Club or a personal contribution to the charity of your choice in Larry’s name.
