    Age 91, formerly of the City of Tonawanda, June14, 2023. Wife of 61 years to the late Donald H. Wattam who passed in 2017. Mother of Deborah (Dr. Gary) McBride, Karen (Peter) Drew, grandmother of Dr. Katlyn (Mitchell Murray) McBride, Peter J. (Gabrielle) Drew, and Hannah (Jonathan) Vargas, great grandmother of Levi and Lorenzo Vargas, Willow and Valli Drew, sister of Sylvia (Joe) Malinowski, Pricilla (late Neb) Bisher, Robert (late Jenny) Heckman, Jacob (late Lillian) Heckman, sister of the late Helen (late Ted) Sexton, Bess (late Fritz) Barber, Jewel May (late Theodore) Fox, Blanche (living spouse Tom) Gipp and Floyd (living spouse Nona) Heckman. Survived by brother in law Robert (late Judith) Wattam and many, many loving family members. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 5-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, Inc. 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts) in the City of Tonawanda. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 9:30 AM in Tonawanda Free Methodist Church, 207 Grove St. in the City of Tonawanda. Everyone welcome to attend.     Obituary for Robert E Heckman
    Robert E. Heckman, 86, also known by close family and friends as Chub or Bob, passed away on August 2, 2024. He was born on September 11, 1937 into a large, loving and close knit family. Son of the late Jacob and Sylvia (nee Young) of Tonawanda, New York.
    Bob was a lifelong Red Sox fan and never missed a Bills game. He liked Sunday drives in the country, a good meal, music, golf, travel, but most of all, he had a great love for his family.
    A dedicated, loving husband of 27 years to the late Jenny (nee Constantino), and father to Jennifer (Paul) Schiffmacher and Laura Heckman. He was the proud papa of Ian, Samuel and Maxwell Schiffmacher.
    Brother to late Helen (late Thaddeus) Sexton, late Jewel May (late Theodore) Fox, late Bess (late Fritz) Barber, late Helena (late Donald) Wattam, Jacob (late Lillian) Heckman, late Blanche (late Thomas) Gipp, late Flyod (late Nona), late Priscilla (late Ned) Bisher, and Sylvia (Joe) Malinowski. Bob is survived also by many nieces and nephews.
    A hardworking man, Bob began work at the International Papermill, and later was employed by General Motors as a stationary engineer at Harrison Radiator where he retired after 25 years. But Bob got most joy from playing baseball. He played for the Great Lakes-Niagara League in St. Catherines in 1957 and played for his companies hardball and softball teams, along with Ship and Shore.
    Bob's retirement allowed for travel with friends, but mostly trips to Wilmington, Delaware where he spent time attending concerts, games, and events for his grandchildren. Distance did not matter; he was always a phone call away. The boys always looked forward to the Sunday conversations and wisdom.
    Robert Heckman was a faithful man with a deep belief in God. He was open about the power of faith and belief in Heaven. We are blessed by the mark made upon our hearts. We have been left with great memories and stories to be treasured forever.
    Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 4-7:00 PM at Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive in North Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Payne Avenue Christian Church, 1459 Payne Avenue in North Tonawanda. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Robert may be made to Niagara Hospice.

    Priscilla is survived by her daughter Pamela (John) Fahy, grandmother of Jordan, McKayla, and Bevin, great grandmother of Teagan.
    Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment Bear Ridge Cemetery.
