    Obituary

Donald E. Hamm-Johnson, age 89, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022. He was born Donald E. Johnson, the son of Gunnard and Marie Johnson. Donald was the loving husband of Nancy Hamm-Johnson and cherished father of Susan Johnson, Linda (Donald) Shultz, Krista (David) Stryker, Donald (Sandra) Johnson, and the late Matthew and Eric Hamm-Johnson. He will also be missed by his grandchildren; Garrett, David, Hannah, Lauren, Rachel, Elsa, Mya, Amanda, Gregory, Daniel, Jessica; as well as his great grand children; Quentin, Bryson, Mykah, Kayden, Maria, Patrick, and Luke.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful granddaughter Kayla, brothers Charles (Susanne), and Ralph (Nancy) Johnson.
Donald leaves behind many loved friends and family members, especially his brother-in-laws Jeff (Janice) Hamm and Fred (Gail) Hamm, his sister-in-law Marinna (the late Merle) Hamm, dear friends William (Rosann)Lawson and their children, grandsons through love  Bruce and Jacob, and cousin, special daughter, and friend Lisa (Kevin) Schneider.
Donald could best be described as a gentle, kind, and compassionate man. He proudly joined the United States Army, where he served in the Korean War. He later became an active member of the Korean War Veterans Association in Cape Coral, Florida. He spoke of these friends often.
Donald had a strong faith, and lived an exemplary life.  He loved nature and was often found enjoying his yard, planting, weeding, and working in the garden with his wife.  He loved to tinker in the shed; fixing things and working on various projects always busy and improving something in and around his home. He was an animal lover who had many cherished rescued pets over the years.  Above all else he loved and enjoyed his family, always proud of each  one, loving them unconditionally.
Donald, husband, father, grandfather, and friend will always be in the hearts of those who were blessed to share in his life.
