at Memorial Hospital. He had
been taken ill while at work
and was pronounced dead on
arrival at the hospital.
A native of Buffalo, Mr.
Batterson came to Niagara
Falls about 1940 and lived
here .for several years before
moving to the Town of Niagara.
He moved to Ransomville
from the Town of Niagara
five years ago.

Of the Town of Cambria, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at her residence under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice.  She was born in Buffalo, NY,  on February 3, 1934, a daughter of the late Albert and Helen [Durand] Batterson.
Dolores was an Avon Lady before becoming the accounts payable clerk with Conbow in Amherst for over 20 years before retiring.\
She was the organist at Hope Lutheran Church for many years.
Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family, doing needlework and crafts.
She was the wife of 64 years to the late Lewis P. Westcott, Jr., who passed away on May 21, 2019.
Dolores is survived by her daughters Lois (Philip) Reiter and Elaine (Greg) Brehm, two grandchildren LT Tyler  Brehm, USN and Lindsey  Brehm, a sister in law Dorothy Batterson,  also many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Paul L. Westcott and sister of the late Albert (Marilyn), Gerald (Marilyn), Roy Batterson, Helen (Douglas) Bennion and Lois Batterson.
Her family will be present on  Friday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10AM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Kurt D. Schultz officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or to Niagara Hospice.
Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.

Helen (Holly) Ruth Bennion (nee Batterson) age 83 of Sanborn, Town of Cambria, NY, was called to her Heavenly home on March 21, 2020 at Sunrise Senior Residence of Shelby Township, Michigan. Born in Attica, NY on September 16, 1936; daughter of the late Albert C. and Helen (Durand) Batterson. Helen was married to Douglas W. Bennion, on July 16, 1954, at Hope Lutheran Church in the Town of Niagara. They were blessed to be married for 62 years, until Douglas passed away on January 15, 2018. Helen was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin, NY. She enjoyed her years in the Ladies Aid group, the Sunshine Club, and being active with the Alter Guild. Helen was a bookkeeper at Neff Electric Company from 1954 to 1960. She also worked in the accounting department for Greif Brothers Corp. from 1977 to 1995. Helen enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, quilting, card making and working on her computer. She always loved her times spent with her children and grandchildren. Helen was very happy to meet her first great-grandchild, Oliver, this past year.
Survivors include her son, Kirk D. (wife Deborah) Bennion of Macomb, Michigan, and daughter, Pamela A. Bennion of North Carolina; grandson, Derek W. (Jennifer) Bennion of Chicago, IL; graddaughter, Darlene F. (James) Roberts of Macomb, MI; great-grandson, Oliver W. Bennion; sister, Dolores (late Lewis) Westcott Jr. of Pekin, NY; and sister in law, Dorothy (late Roy) Batterson of Town of Niagara, NY; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by two brothers, Gerald (Dinah) Batterson and Al (Marilyn) Batterson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Pekin, NY, with the Rev. R.P. Vogeler, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Helen's name, to St. Andrew Lutheran Church. A private interment took place in Niagara Falls Memorial Park.
Local arrangements have been with the DuBois Funeral Home, Wheatfield, NY.

Steven P. Batterson, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018. He was 59.  He was born in Niagara Falls on April 2, 1959, a son of the late Albert and Marilyn (Smith) Batterson.  He attended local schools and then received his degree in drafting from SUNY at Delhi.  Steve began his career as a draftsman at Cannon Design in 1980 and worked his way to the position of Senior Associate and finally to the position of Associate Vice President.  Steve retired from Cannon in December, 2016 after being diagnosed with cancer.
Steve enjoyed building model World War II airplanes and loved reading books about airplanes.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, two sons: Kevin and Michael Batterson of Niagara Falls, his sister Suzanne (late Michael) Quincy of Niagara Falls, his brother David Batterson and his nephew Alexander Quincy of Buffalo. He was predeceased by his brother Mark Batterson.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 4 PM at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls 14304.  Burial will be private in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of WNY.
