Gaetano Bellavia, 79, of 455
18 St., died today (March 28,
1961) at Memorial Hospital
after a short illness. .
A native of Italy, he had
lived in this city for 50 years.
Prior to his retirement, he
had been employed at the
Hooker Chemical Corp. for
25 years. He was a member
of the Umberto Nobile Society.
Surviving are his widow,
Mrs. Jennie Bellavia; two
sons, Philip and Frank Bellavia;
two daughters, Mrs. Anthony
DeFazio and Mrs.
Frank Vernone, all of this
city, and several grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are
being made at the Amato Funeral
Home.

Rose DeFazio, 101, formerly of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at The Villages of Orleans Nursing Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Jennie (Schifa) Bellavia.
Rose married her beloved husband, Anthony S. DeFazio on June 19, 1937 at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. He predeceased her on July 26, 2009, after 72 years together. Rose was employed as a clerk for the former Jenss Department Store. She was a former member of the John Duke Center Travel Club and St. John de LaSalle Church. She also was a former volunteer at Memorial Medical Center.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling all over the world, and golfing in her younger years.
Mrs. DeFazio is survived by her children Grace Williams and Leonard A. (Bonnie) DeFazio; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frank (late Brandalyn) Bellavia and Philip (late Edna) Bellavia; her sister, Clara (late Gus) Virtuoso; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery were held at the convenience of the family. ARRANGEMENTS BY M.J. BOCA RATON, FL — Clara Vernone Virtuoso, 94, of Boca Raton, FL, went to be with the Lord, November 2, 2012. Wife of the late Frank J. Vernone and the late Octavio T. Virtuoso.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the dear daughter of Gaetano and Jennie Bellavia; sister of the late Frank and Phillip Bellavia; and grandmother of the late Robert L. Grenga.

This stunning, stylish lady is survived by her daughter, Christine Vernone Gudasky; a son, Michael J. Vernone of Delray Beach, FL; a granddaughter, Christina Grenga of Boca Raton, FL; a granddaughter-in-law, Linda Grenga of West Palm Beach, FL; a grandson, Frank J. (Antoinette) Grenga; four great-grandchildren, Frankie, Tia, Dino and Dominic, all of Lewiston, NY; and a sister, Rose DeFazio of Niagara Falls, NY.

Clara's memory will be cherished by her loving family and friends. She will always be remembered as the lovely fashionable lady with a beautiful smile.

A private memorial and celebration of her life are planned for November 26, 2012, in Boca Raton, FL.

Though she is gone from amongst us, in our hearts she will remain.

Past her suffering, past her pain, cease to weep for tears are vain.

She who suffered is at rest, gone to heaven with the blest.

Guy Bellavia, 76, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Philip and Edna (Smith) Bellavia.
Guy was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1968. On December 21, 1973 he married his beloved wife, Gail (Loverde) Bellavia in Grand Island, NY. 
Guy was employed with the New York State Parks Department for many years prior to his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed tending to his garden, as well as being with his dogs, Bonnie and Clyde. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters, Abigail and Julianna. 
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Guy is survived by his daughter, Carrie (David) Roeser; two granddaughters, Abigail and Julianna Roeser; his sister-in-law, Carol (Bill) Glassner, and brother-in-law, Russell (Debi) Loverde; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, Guy was  predeceased by his brother, Frank (Barb) Bellavia and his brother-in-law, Edward (Mary) LoVerde.

Frank P. Bellavia, Sr., 65, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Philip and Edna J. (Smith) Bellavia. Frank attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1972. On May 26, 1973 he married his beloved wife, Barbara (Casper) Bellavia at the former Sacred Heart Church. Frank was the owner and operator of Frank’s Body Shop on Niagara Falls Boulevard for 25 years. He later retired from Listen Manufacturing Company as a machinist after 15 years of service. In his leisure time he enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 45 of years, Mr. Bellavia is survived by his children, Frank (Brianne) Bellavia, Jr. and Dana (William) Rodgers; four grandchildren, Bryce and Ian Rodgers and Frank, III and Zoe Bellavia; his brother, Guy (Gail) Bellavia and half-sister Jennie Piwowarski. Frank is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 12th from 2 – 7 P.M. at M.J.
