    MOIRA - Leland James
    Woods, 36, Moira, was fatally
    insured Monday afternooon at
    4:30 at his home when a 55-
    gallon drum exploded as he
    attempted to cut the top with
    an acetylene torch.
    Woods was declared dead
    on arrival at Alice Hyde Hospital,
    Malone,
    State Police at Malone said
    traces of tar at the bottom of
    the drum apparently caused
    the explosion.
    The body was released to
    the Flint Funeral Home in
    Moira, where friends may call
    tonight from 7 to 9 and
    Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7
    to 9 p.m.
    The funeral will be Thursday
    at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's
    Church, Brushton. Burial will
    be in the parish cemetery.
    Mr. Woods is survived by
    his widow, Mrs., S a n d r a.
    Woods; his mother, Mrs.
    Mary Young Woods, Moira; a
    daughter, Nancy, 13; a son,
    Timothy, 11; his m a t e r n a I
    grandmother Mrs. Margaret
    Young, Brushton; two sisters,
    Mrs. Joseph (tola) Ranieri,
    Brushton, and Mrs. George
    (Betty) Beha- Parishville;
    three brothers Roger Woods,
    Madrid, Ralph Woods, Norwood,
    and Ira Woods, Brush-
    ton.
    A native of Moira, Mr.
    Woods was bom March 25,
    1934, a son of Mrs. Mary
    Young Woods and the late
    Andrew Woods. He attended
    Moira High School and married
    the former Sandra Sancomb
    in St. Ann's Churchy St.
    Regis Falls, on Sept. 15,1956.
    Mr. Woods was employed
    by tte New York State Department
    of Transportation.
    He was a communicant of
    St. Mary's Church in Brushton
    and a member of the
    C.S.E.A.
