    city; two daughters, Mrs.
    Theodore (Catherine) Bland of
    this city, and Mrs. Harold
    (Anne) Lynch of Akron, N.Y.;
    a brother, Maurice Abbott of
    Youngstown; two sisters, Mrs.
    George Rowan of Fredricton
    N.B. Canada and Mrs. Harry
    McNulty of St. Catherines,'
    Ont.; seven grandchildren and
    three great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held
    zt the Lane Funeral Home, at
    11 a.m. with the Rev.
    Frederick Mastennan of St.
    Steven's Episcopal Church
    officiating. Burial will be in
    Memorial Park Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 7 to 9
    p.m. today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 °
    p.m. Tuesday.

    Judith (nee Abbott) Jarvis passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ronald H. Jarvis, D.D.S.; her parents Maurice M. Abbott and Isabelle A. (nee McFall) Abbott. Judy was also predeceased by her older brother, Michael M. Abbott PhD (Mary). Surviving family includes two daughters, Jennifer J. Hamberger (Douglas) and Pamela J. Ortolani (Terrence); as well as four grandsons Maxwell D. Hamberger, Christopher H. Hamberger, Parker M. Ortolani and Carson A. Ortolani; a sister, Marilyn J. Wagshul (Alan) and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Niagara Falls, New York on July 27, 1941, Judy moved with her family to a farm in Youngstown in 1951 where she was an active member of the Niagara County 4-H Club winning the championship for making and modeling clothes for four years running. A gifted seamstress, she made beautiful clothes for herself, her family and her friends. Hand-smocking was a particular skill. She was a 1958 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School where she was a majorette. Judy won the Betty Crocker “Homemaker of Tomorrow” scholarship that same year. She attended Buffalo State Teacher’s College and Niagara University before graduating from Erie County Technical Institute with an Associates degree in dental hygiene in 1962. Following her graduation, she ran the dental health program for Massena Central Schools in upstate New York. During her husband’s service in the US Navy (1962-1965), Judy served as the assistant to Admiral Edward J. O’Donnell at Guantanamo Bay Cuba where they were stationed. Active in the local community, she volunteered at Children’s Hospital and polling sites during major elections. Judy also served on the board of the Ronald McDonald House in the 1980s. More recently she was active with the Lewiston Porter Class of 1958 Scholarship Fund. Flowers are gratefully declined.     Mary is survived by her husband Michael J. O'Connor of 38 years, children Ryan J. (Samantha Kerfoot) O'Connor, Colleen M. O'Connor and Timothy P. O'Connor, grandchildren Breanna and Ava Shimmel and Evan O'Connor. She was the sister of the late John (Nancy) Brenseke.

    THEODORE'S OBITUARY

    Theodore J. Bland Jr., 72, of Amherst NY, passed suddenly on Tuesday, March 13th, 2024. Born on August 9th, 1951 in Niagara Falls NY, he was the son of the late Theodore J. Bland Sr. and late Catherine (nee Brenseke) Bland. Ted married his high school sweetheart, Jill J. Peploe, on July 25th, 1974. She pre-deceased Ted on March 23rd, 1999.  Ted was a graduate of LaSalle High School, SUNY Fredonia and Niagara University. Ted enjoyed a long career over three decades and retired as a beloved elementary teacher from Forest Elementary in the Williamsville School District. (Indeed.)
    Ted’s true pride was his family. He is survived by his three children, Theodore J. Bland III of Mesa, AZ, Andrew (Shannon) Bland of Grand Island, NY and Carrie (James) McKinnon of Westford, MA; cherished grandchildren Alex, Jillian, Hunter, Charley and Wesley; caring siblings, Dr. Susan Bland, Patricia (Salvatore) Pagano, Kathleen (Gary) Bien and many nieces and nephews. 
    The family will host calling hours on Monday March 18th, 2024,from 4-7pm at Lane Funeral home; 8622 Buffalo Ave. Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Funeral will be held Tuesday March 19th, 2024 at 11am at St. Paul’s Amherst Lutheran Campus; 5125 Main St. Williamsville, NY 14221. Prayers of committal and internment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery in Pendleton NY. In Lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute in loving memory of Jill and Ted Bland.
