Born In Cheektowaga, she
lived in Lockport for the last
46 years. She was a member
of the Pallotine Fathers Lady
Auxiliary here.
She is survived by her husband,
Joseph; two sons Edward
Michael, of Lockport and Frank
S., of Gasport; two daughters,
Mrs. Helen Daniel of Lockport
and Mrs. Joseph Belczak, of
here; two brothers, Joseph and
Michael Fischer, both of
Cheektowaga; three sisters,
Mrs. Anna Pych, of Alden, Mrs.
Joseph Brenkus and Mrs. Chester
Nowak, both of Cheektowaga.
15 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 9:30
a.m. Friday at the Pawenski
Funeral Home, followed by a
requiem mass at 10 a.m. in Our
Lady of Czestochowa Church.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and
Thursday at the funeral home.

Of North Tonawanda, passed away October 26, 2019, at home under the care of Niagara Hospice surrounded by her family.
Beloved wife of retired North Tonawanda Fire Chief the late Joseph Belczak.
Loving mother of Joseph (Lorraine), Michael (Ann) Belczak, Barbara (Vincent ) Pecoraro and Patricia ( Mark) Wieclaw; sister of Joseph ( Esther) Gabrys, late Helen Daniel and late Edward Gabrys.
Also survived by 10 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday 4 to 8 PM at the WATTENGEL FUNERAL HOME, 533 Meadow Dr., N. Tonawanda. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, 626 Oliver St. N. Tonawanda (please assemble at church). Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Following retirement Mrs. Belczak pursued her interest in oil painting and created over 150 pictures for family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Renovation Fund or Niagara Hospice.

Gasport

(Gasport) Joseph F. Gabrys, owner and operator of Gasport Wood Products, passed away early Wednesday, April 24, 2024. He was born October 19, 1933, a son of the late Joseph and Frances (Mendrysa) Gabrys. 
Shortly after the Korean War, he married Esther (Drotter) Gabrys. They were happily married for 69 years until his passing. Joe had a passion for hunting and got 111 white tail bucks. He enjoyed four-wheeling and was always busy tinkering and building things.
 In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Gary J. Gabrys; brother Edward (Doris) Gabrys; sisters Helen Daniels, Irene (Joseph) Belczak.
 He is survived by his wife Esther; sons Joseph (Cynthia) Gabrys, Timothy (Veronica) Gabrys; daughter-in-law Lori Gabrys; grandchildren Heather, Kelly, Justin, Steven, Hallie (Lance), James; great-grandchildren Cameron, Morgan, Rebekah, Nathaniel, Esther, Bryson, Lincoln, Kora, Lydia, Jayden as well as several nieces and nephews.

 Due to him donating his body to science, his Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, Gasport.

MICHAEL. R. BELCZAK of North Tonawanda entered into rest on October 13, 2023 at his
residence after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was 71 years old. Michael was the
son of the late Joseph and Irene (Gabrys) Belczak of North Tonawanda; beloved husband of
Ann (Kick) Belczak; beloved father of Mary Beth (John) Crossett, Laura (Michael) Heim and
Daniel (Deborah Makin) Belczak of Madison, Wisconsin; proud grandfather of Benjamin,
Christopher, Liam and Julia Crossett, Patrick, Allison and Margaret Heim and Evelyn Belczak.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph (Lorraine) Belczak and two sisters, Barbara (Vince)
Pecoraro and Patricia (Mark) Wieclaw, and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He
was a true Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills fan and always enjoyed watching the game with his
family. Michael spent many hours in the swimming pool at the Tonawanda Aquatic Center with
his father and many summers in his own pool. When he was able, he loved spending time
golfing with friends.
Michael recently retired from his practice as an attorney in North Tonawanda which he enjoyed
for over 40 years. In recent years, his practice focused on real estate and he assisted many
clients sell and purchase homes, many of whom became personal friends. He was a member of
the New York State Bar Association and Erie County Bar Association.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday October 17, 2023 from 3 to 8 PM in the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive in North Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at 9:30 AM from St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd in North Tonawanda.
Burial will follow at Friedens Cemetery, Wheatfield. Flowers are gratefully declined, if desired memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Niagara Hospice.

Obituary of Gary Gabrys

(Gasport)  Gary J. Gabrys age 59 died September 14, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.  He was born September 7, 1959 in Kenmore, NY, a son of Joseph and Esther (Drotter) Gabrys and had lived in this area all of his life.
Gary was president of Gasport Wood Products where he worked for many years creating beautiful cabinetry.  He enjoyed the outdoor especially fishing and hunting with his father at their camp in the Southern Tier.  Gary was most proud of the 8 point buck he shot when he was 13 years old and for the bear he shot in 2006.  He loved spending time with his family, he especially adored his grandson Bryson who was “papa’s little helper”, helping plant his vegetable garden or mowing the lawn and was always there for snuggles and ice cream.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife Lori of 44 years; his son James (Ashley Williams) Gabrys; his daughter Hallie Gabrys both of Gasport; grandson Bryson and grandbabies on the way; brothers Joseph (Cynthia) Gabrys of Lockport, Timothy (Veronica) Gabrys of Gasport; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Debra (Jay) Moore of FL, Lisa (Donald) Smith of CO, Edwin (Dawn) Winkley of Middleport, Karen (Mike) Punch of Middleport; mother-in-law Ada Winkley of Middleport; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his father-in-law Edwin Winkley, Sr.
The family will receive friends at the Middleport Fire Department, 28 S. Main St. Middleport NY 14105 on Saturday September 22nd from 2:00pm-5:00pm where his Memorial Service will follow at 5:00pm.  Memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice.
